Default C8 Easter Eggs?

Not sure if this has been posted yet, too much activity to keep track off in recent days after the reveal.

Any opinions on the supposed "easter eggs" from the C8 time square reveal, namely, "Zora Duntov" and the "6.3L 490 HP" engine? Articles below

So what? Doesn't mean you need to lower yourself to that level.

Hell, I hadn't seen the license plate part for example.

I've always wondered why you're always so aggressive in your posts..... visited your profile, your 19 years old? Yea, no surprise.

That's not to say all 19-year-olds or millennials are quick-tempered obnoxious brats, I'm in my mid 20's myself.

I think you just need a hug. Go hug a mannequin or something, being touch deprived makes people nasty.

The engine displacement and horsepower is definitely in the ballpark ....that’s what I’m expecting.
Maybe they threw us a sign, not impossible .

The only thing about the displacement... it's 6.2L now, I can't imagine them only changing displacement by .1L.

They went from 6.0L to 6.2L to be able to disactivate one of the banks of cylindres....
Depends what the engineers are trying to achieve.
Again,not impossible .
we will see .

500hp min. or bust. If someone made a decision to stop at 490hp, that would be a joke.

Facinating. :

The present LT is 6162cc (376 ci). Where I went to school we'd round that down to 6.1 not up to 6.2 but GM can do what they want. You'd need 378 ci plus a little to make a true 6.2
The old 350 with a stroker crank usually came out about 383 ci which rounds to 6.3
The new iron block truck engine with Al heads comes out to 6.6lt at 402 ci plus a little.

Just for fun, lets assume that it's the LT out of the Grand Sport slightly pumped up to 490hp and called a 6.3.

The pluses are that you're using a reliable, known engine tweeked a bit. Enough challenge that the chassis and trans are ALL NEW. Helps with the budget also.
The negative is that the performance margin over the C7 GS now depends on very careful weight control. Very tough to do on a radically new design. You'd like 200 lbs less, the danger is that it will be 200 lbs more
You'll get some positive chassis effect and some aero, if done right, but the HP boost is not going to be accompanied by any torque bump to speak of. Nor will the torque curve be fatter.
The trans should be faster for the average street driver and track driver for that matter.
But will the C8 deliver street performance???
That's a dangerous game to play with the market.

I grew up in the auto business and my buddy keeps reminding me that the new cars are designed for guys like Zerv and Zora -so either go along for the ride or go away. With that said my Dad was a Mopar dealer in the 60’s and I would spend hours trying to decipher the CI vs Hp vs Torque in the Mopar motors. He was not a racer type so he was absolutely no help when I questioned why the 440 had less HP than the 426. I spent hours and hours researching those numbers in Road and Track magazine+ the Plymouth ordering books. I will never forgot the button on the shifter of a 440 six pack car that was traded in to the lot. When you pushed it a small red light came on the dashboard. It was a few years later when I finally figured it out why that car had this device!

Hey thanks for asking Pietro, I wasn’t old enough to drive and it weirds me out to think that I played with it at the stop light. It was a “line lock”. I believe the Ford factory offers it on the new Mustang. It held the front brakes so you could heat up your rear tires!

I do. I spend less than a half hour per day on here. What's it to you?
