Nope I'll wait may get a GTR to ease the wait time... my 13Z is getting long in the teeth..never really wanted a C7 although I think they are bad ***

I think after the reveal 07/18/2019 production will begin within a short period producing ME’s, hopefully retail customer orders, thus dealers will have allocations. The ME will slowly ramp up through the Fall with first deliveries near/at/just after year end 2019. In the meantime all those built MEs are going to go through extensive QC before ever being shipped to Dealers. Why else would there now be such a large extensive factory storage be built at BG.

You do know that the 2014 C7 is considered the most reliable of all years? Normally I would agree with waiting to work out the bugs, but with the C7 your opinion is not quite accurate just because you had a few issues with your C7...especially since it sounds like GM was on top of the repairs / recalls...
My 2014 was absolutely bullet proof with not one issue to report... I think most who own a 2014 will agree.
As for the C8 - it's too European looking for me...it lost its "american muscle" look...but I hope its a huge success out of respect for the Corvette name / brand.

Certainly, waiting avoids all the introduction frenzy.... MARP/Markups, limited choice in options or color, and of course teething issues. While I believe modern manufacturers (including GM) do a great job of pre-production development, it is inevitable that, in real world use, problems will emerge as all involved go though the 'learning curve", and enhancements are introduced.
However, waiting too long can cause significant depreciation losses on the back-end as improved, and new models replace the existing ones.... so its really pick your poison.
Personally, I'm in a good position, as my loan is not paid off until next July... so the C8 could fly, cure cancer, and blow angels out the tailpipe, and I won't be in a position to even consider a new car until late 2020.
At this point, my plan is to sit on the sidelines, and if I really like it, probably pick up a low mileage used one down the road.

My 2015 C7 Z06 has been the best vehicle I have ever owned. Zero issues, no rattles, loose trim, paint defects, nothing. Perhaps I just got lucky but I could not be more pleased. I have tracked the car a lot in an aggressive manner and have experienced zero problems on track (no heat related problems). I will definitely buy the C8 but will likely wait till year two when hopefully the higher performance versions will be released.

It certainly seems to have been the case with the 14 C7, but I also think the intro of the A8 in 2015 had a lot to do with dragging down the reliability stats. However, manual C7s stayed pretty bullet-proof throughout the run.

2020 C5 of the Year Finalist - Unmodified
Probably not, based on dealer behavior. I have an inherent adversity to paying MSRP or above for any car, never have, don’t see it happening in my future. Then again, the C8 might be so badass that I might

Probably 2nd year. My 2014 C7 has had a water pump and an O2 sensor go bad as well as the fan control module. Other than that solid car mechanically. Paint and body fit are another story.

I own a C7 Z06 and 2017 Camaro ZL1. I've gotten used to the brute horsepower. I will probably wait for a Z06 or ZR1, possibly in a convert if available.

2015 C7 of the Year Finalist
My 2014 C7 #744 , delivers 9/28/13 had no issues, traded it for one of the 1st 2015 A8 Z06 now 4 years old with 28k miles and runs great.
I say I will wait till the frenzy wears down for the C8 but I'm going to be 70yrs old soon so I may jump on one if I like it.

Shopped all last year for a C7 knowing the C8 was coming. Pretty certain I will be waiting for the C8 to get some miles on it and see how things shake out. I think the car will be fantastic but I am also thinking a base is not going to be a big enough step up so will wait for the hi-po models to hit the street.
