Default Turn the designers loose

“The Chevrolet Chaparral 2X Vision GT serves as an example of what our designers are capable of when they are cut loose, no holds barred,” said Ed Welburn, Cice President of GM Global Design. “It’s a fantasy car in every sense of the word.”

How close did the designers come to the fantasy in the style theme of the C8? Is this what Peters means when he talks about carrying the Corvette theme into the future?

Check the side scoops!!!

Cool in a way but I would be embarrassed to drive that on public streets.

Yeah no golf clubs.. and how many people would be willing to drive a car laying flat on their belly flying down public roads head first

When we finally do get to see the c8, it would be interesting to have the design team speak to the compromises they had to make to the design in terms of safety and storage etc.

It almost looks like a few custom cars that I have seen that are built up side down. This looks like you could flip it over and be good to go.

On the bright side, the wheels come off easily should you find yourself in a pinch and need a saucer sled for some winter fun.

It's been 5 years, why aren't these everywhere.
I half expected it to transform into a flying robot while she was driving.

Laying down head first..... i'd be thinking more about running into the back of someone, or straight into the wall. Makes my neck hurt thinking of that!

Designers must be free to explore without being stuck on one idea or constrained by conservative thinking. This is needed in the beginning phases because later in development, wild ideas progress to realistic risk tolerant options. All designers need a discovery/blue sky phase for fresh concepts that are never intended to be manufactured as a real product at that stage.

The great thing about that monstrosity is that it gives all the C8 whiners something legitimate to complain about.

I wonder about the taillights?
