Nice entertaining read...but,I disagree in every way.
Lets see how it plays out ..maybe give it a couple years of production and sales.

Good chances he gets to find out what the rage about Eating Crow is,in about a year or so.

Why should we waste time reading it, when those that have already can give cliff notes.

Oh look, a new Fiero,” is a common, fairly kind response. Another reader posts, “If I wanted a Ferrari, I’d buy a Ferrari..” Others are more blunt in their disdain for the new car, “It looks like sh*t…”

One sided journalism. I know there’s at least one person that has stated optimism for the C8 (me).

Because you miss out on the bigger picture the author is trying to paint by the time he gets to the end. Seems a few people here just read the headline and the first paragraph before making up their minds and letting their outrage takeover.

I read a few paragraphs...it was enough.
I didn’t enjoy his writing style...Average journalism at best.
I’ve learned more about Corvette and been far more entertained by most of you guys.

Here's the last paragraph for the ADD sufferers here.

It’s high time we adjourn from the Instagram/Facebook court of public approval and wait to see the new car in the flesh. Remember, it will be a vessel for over 100 years of aggregated GM automotive expertise and it would be a mistake to dismiss it because say, we didn’t like the taillights…Remember how that went?

So, the Corvette is dead. Long live the Corvette.

It’s a blog, so little difference in skimming CF. In fact, it appears he wrote the entire article capturing the discussions and some of the graphics used here. Just another lazy journalistic compilation article with an attention grabbing click bait headline.

Same old, same old, every corvette generation, every naysayer. Click bait selling adds, nothing more, and you bought it. Funny if it wasn't so obviously fawning for your favor.

They said this about the C2 replacing the C1 - how'd that work out and how is this different besides "I agree with it" narrative?

Yet Corvette remains the longest surviving automobile marque in car history - wonder how that is? Certainly not due to the so called "wisdom" of the idiots that write these genius articles that play to the foolish crowds.

Another article no one will recall in a year.

Carry on.

Thanks for making the effort for posting that Jeff.

Now it confirms that it is one of the most pathetic articles that I have ever read....
The author trips all over his metaphores ,attempted sattire and clichés.

He also gives proof that 100% of all this articles content comes from this Forum.
Nothing special .

Sorry. I apparently haven't had enough kool-aid yet today.

The C8 is the bestest Corvette EVAR and will take all the sales from all the Fuhrarries and Lamborgheenees and be more betterer than the Ford GT and all the fools with their spensive 'exotics' will feel like such losers when they see how amazing and bad *** my mid engine Corvette supercar is for $62,000.

Am I doing it right?

The author proved his own point... nobody reads anymore... read headline, agree with it and praise it, disagree with it and rage about it, move on to the next one.

Rubbish journalism.

The picture of Michael Simcoe inset with Ed Welburn's Avista is the icing on the cake. They're literally crediting Simcoe for Welburn's masterpiece.

The biggest question I have is why would anyone start a new thread to post such garbage?

I find that all the Facebook posters that responded to this article were so misinformed it hurt my brain.

I think your close on pricing,I wouldn’t put it at Ferrari level ...Maybe ego has something to do with sales...

As for opening up about your judgemental views on a car forum....
Well,that’s completely up to you.

Basically, I am an old school, "dinosaur". I have daily driven 21 Vettes over the last 52 years. But, I am looking forward to the C8. GM won t let us down. At least, from the looks/performance perspective. The C8 will take down almost any Porsche. And, give the "exotics" a run for their money at less than one fifth the cost. Sure, Porsche, Ferrari, etc. drivers will never buy one. But, when I pull up to a Porsche in my outdated/outmoded '12 ZR1 at a traffic light. He knows it would be game over for him if he got "racey". So, bring on the C8.

Now, only if they would offer a manual......

"They" are not crediting Simcoe with anything. The photo came from the Richmond Times Dispatch. The Avista was shown in 2016, and Simcoe took over GM Design in 2016, both Simcoe and Welburn worked on the damn car, so maybe we can forgive a local newspaper for getting that bit of trivia wrong. As for the Corvette article, they weren't talking about the Avista at all so you're just being pedantic.
