Where's the thread with "insider info"?
Yesterday someone linked a post from MECF with "insider info"... why was it removed? Where'd it go?

Side Scoop
Side Scoop
- The side intake design is completely fake as we see it now. That is, that weird triangular panel on the tip of the door is completely fake, and that includes both of the pieces, not just the top piece that we already assumed is bogus. The piece that extends to the door is small and barely extends into the door. The overall shape is almost identical to the vent shape on the gen V viper. Again, literally almost I D E N T I C A L. None of the renders are close with respect to the intake design. The only accurate aspect of ANY render we have seen today is with the front and rear bumpers. Basically, forget the renders, the car looks different. There is a square button that pushes into the bodywork that allows you to grab the door. Similar to how the handle worked on C3 corvettes.
- Will be retractable
- Engine is visible
- Is hard top as in current gen
- The power mechanism is the same one that is used for the convertible...so no different parts to buy should they break
- Stores between engine and firewall. You can’t see it from inside the car
- When you activate the top, the B-Pillar lifts up out of the way and the targa lifts up and slides right in vertically in a compartment before the firewall
- Rear window can retract up and down while top is up or down
- Engine not visible, but has venting
- The attraction of the vert is that it has a flat rear decklid and vertical rear window so it looks much different than the targa cars, even when the targa is off
- Bright purple, bright green, and gold will be available colors, in addition to the traditional colors we are used to. Dark red is going away, only torch red stays
- $60,400
- 530 hp LT2
- No hood venting
- Seats are not Recaro, but they are much nicer than any other corvette seats
- No Manual
- $85,400
- 730 hp twin turbo DOHC
- Vented hood
- Carbon fiber wheels optional
- Fenders, hood, and rear decklid are all carbon fiber
- Will differentiate from the stingray with more prominent flares over the rear wheels, larger vent openings in the rear bumper, and cutout vents over the front wheels similar to gen v viper ACR and porsche gt2/gt3 rs
- $125,800
- 830 hp twin turbo DOHC (same engine as Z06; extra hp from electric motors)
- Vented hood
- AWD is still being discussed however no decision has been made yet to include it
- Bows in year 4
- Electrification, active aero, and badges will be the only items separating the ZR1/Zora from the ZO6

The one about how the side intake looks like the one on the Viper? Yawn.

Could be true. The side scoop description is very close. LT2 hp is as expected. LT7 hp seems rather low, as does the hp of the electric motors on the ZR1/Zora, but that's only because rumors have suggested far greater power.

Melting Slicks
60 000$ including DCT and powered retractable targa...
seems a little low in my opinion.
At this point,we have more clarity on the C8,I think that even a 12 year old could make a list of assumptions and come within 10% of the final car.
As for the scoop it will always be the outline of the McDonald’s Camo cars of last year.
I’m calling B.S
There’s a Draft Kings mentality that’s taking over the C8 section .

It's all plausible, but I'm not seeing anything there to make me believe it's any more or less real than all the other informed speculation here. I'd have been a lot more impressed if they had engine RPOs and displacements for the alleged DOHC motors. Not that those couldn't be totally made up, but it would be more convincing.

The posting is being taken down for 1 of 2 reasons. 1./ It is fake and there are legal consequences for the website 2./ It is real and there are legal consequences for the website. It sounds plausible to me but the prices seem a little lower than expected. Of course, Bowling Green has added another shift so they must figure they are going to sell like hotcakes. I would agree.

My guess is something in that data list is real and GM doesn't want it out... neat stuff. A 530 horse ME DCT power targa car for $60,400.... sign me up! Gm will make it $63K for 2021

That's probably Dodge's marketing department trolling the car..
ME Viper will be anounced soon after the C8..
That info looks totally bogus..
I remember the "leaked demon specs" right before it's reveal... 100% accurate sounding/looking but wound up totally wrong.
