On the opposite end of that thought, someone up north probably wouldn't want to buy a new sports car in October, then store it for six months. I'd think they'd start delivering over the winter sometime, to have the car read for the spring buying and summer driving season.

The sooner they end production of the C7 the better.

All.the dealership and many Corvette customers cannot wait until.the C8 is available for delivery.

The dealer base is sitting on thousands of unsold C7 and more are being produced each day.

GM is forcing dealership to take delivery of C7 they smdo not need or want but how GM works allocation of the C8 is based off how many C7 the dealership has purchased in the prior year.

So the big Corvette dealership are taking allocation of the C7 knowing that the profit margin on these cars will be much lower than normal but they also know that every C8 they get will be sold at MSRP.

Thus cycle happen at the end of every generation of Corvette. This time it maybe more pronounced due to the revolutionary change to the platform when all other generations we evaluationary in comparison to the C7 to C8 .

Do you remember when the first C7 deliveries happened? For some reason, I seem to recall lit being cold outside. And no, I am not from the north.

Take delivery, maybe not in Alaska. But there are plenty of us "northerners" who will want to order exactly what we want in the fall and winter, or we'll take delivery and have it brought home in an enclosed trailer. Not every day in winter is snow covered. We get plenty of days and weeks all winter long that our roads are clear and dry. We're no different than the guy in Florida or California.

Oh I agree if you are talking fall/winter of this year. Realistically, whenever it is released it is going to sell to everyone everywhere well, but I can't see a business model where GM waits until the end of next summer. Of course, if I totally misinterpreted the comment I was responding to and they meant Sept/Oct of 2019, not 2020, I apologise for that and would agree 100% with them.

This I can share every Chevrolet dealer was informed by GM on 5-1-19 if they want to sell & service C8 Corvette you must sign up to be either a Corvette dealer or a Signature Corvette dealer. The deadline is June 7th to do so.

Do you think GM announces a start date for production without sales and service training? The owner of my dealership along with the service manager, and myself are enrolled in the sales and service training class at Spring Mountain to be held in the fall. We will get to drive C8 Mid-Engine Corvettes for two days on the track and learn about the car.
With all due respect, mate you really need to put some thought into the use of punctuation. Your post took far too much effort to comprehend?

is there an internal GM document about the end date to become a Corvette Dealer? My dealer genuinely knows nothing about this and is curious.

I think alot of people are reading too much into the whole C7 being discontinued in June. This can also be a way to up the sale of the C7 for those who want one but don't want to miss the boat of an order so dealerships are using it to Hurry up their client to commit so they don't ''MISS" out. Yes They are auctioning off the last car in June, but that car may be 4 months away from being produced. They are just reserving their right for it for when it is produced. GM hasn't announced when the last time to order. yet because they may not even know yet. Also the C8 gets revealed 7 18 19 but when the C7 was introduced in January it didn't actually make it to the dealerships until Mid september. I remember seeing a midnight blue out around the 23rd of september 2013 in Vegas. So is there a possibility of extending the 2019 model? Just some things

Corvette will not announce the end of ordering C7 or production of C7 until they know the start date for C8 production. The fact that nothing has been said about end dates for C7 suggests that C8 is not production ready. There will not be an announcement of retail availability of C8 at the July reveal either.

I am willing to bet that whatever you thought you ordered on Jan 20th, days after the debut, was not really "ordered" until much later date.

The first regular customer C7 was delivered in Florida to a friend, on September 20, 2013.

Perhaps a cold snap in September, or maybe I am thinking of the Z06 the following year.

That's right, December 2014 for the Z06. I remember watching the video from the NCM where Rick Hendrick took delivery of #001. During the celebration, a guy came up to him and shook his hand, or something. He was a dead ringer for my dad, who had just passed away a few weeks earlier. I replayed the video a couple times. Could have been his twin. Eerie.

The end is near the front engine Corvette is the Horseless carriage of 2019. When the ME arrives and is being produced now! People the plant has been retooled what do you think they are catering birthday partys there? It cost money to keep the lights on so order now for you will be left out.

So Toyota Supra and BMW will take over the FE market from Corvette? I'm sure Toyota and BMW appreciate that gift from GM of 30K sports cars per year. Maybe Nissan and Mazda will jump back into the FE market too. If Corvette is ME only with no manual and no cargo space, it will soon be history.

I think they feel very successful...even on the last year of the current generation they still lead the luxury sports segment.

I don’t know many cross shopping a Vette with a BMW or much less a Toyota 6 cylinder automatic, but feel free to keep up with your nonsensical ramblings...
