Default C8 body color a-pllars appear to be confirmed

Not sure if it’s been verified yet but I’ve heard a little bit of talk about whether C8 would have painted a pillars or the traditional black ones..... this Camo car appears to verify they will finally be body color!!!

Please give credit to whoever took this pic as I’m not sure who it belongs to

Could be the bare chassis. Do mules get production paint? (Asking I don’t actually know)

I guess it is something to guess about. What are the chances that someone is going to post they will not buy a C8 if the A pillars are body color?

Or threatens to sue GM over it?

At this stage, they would be built on the line and painted body color as assembly test cars.

Cool photo! Based on the photo, will we also have an option for mixed wheels as well?

The C8 should have body color a-pillars given the continuous arc from the a-pillar through the roof. On the C4/5/6 the a-pillar was more upright vs. the roof and blacked out to create a wrap-around cockpit look; which I actually prefer. You can see in my avatar... that wrap around black airplane look... I love that. Don't hate a properly done body-color a-pillar though.

I don't think we're there yet. The C7 line is still running, and by all accounts there is only one production line in the refurbished BGA plant. Keeping the new car under wraps with all assembly line workers seeing them would be next to impossible. I think the only cars built at this point are still being hand-built in Michigan in a secure facility.

Based on the shade of grey (not metal) and the gloss from the clear coat - this is a factory painted car.

{Attempt at sarcasm: On}

I thought you had to be able to see the orange peel to tell it was factory painted.

But orange peel might be standard equipment or an option - we don't know yet.

We can only hope. It would be a shame to lose that beautiful new sweeping roof line to blacked out A-pillars.

Actually, based on the photo, the C8 will be equipped with cheap cast wheels that are highly susceptible to failure under normal highway conditions, just as does the 2015 to present GS and Z06. I never heard of this problem plaguing Porsche!
