Default Just wondering

Hi, yes. I’m just wondering if all of the clowns that want to talk about stuff they have no idea about could refrain from posting? That would be excellent. Some of you are oblivious to the fact that you haven’t even SEEN the car yet, then people with common sense can’t go on the c8 page to look for updates without rummaging through dumb...’The c8 is ugly’. ‘It’s going to make XXX power’. ‘How hard will it be to work on?’. ‘Will I fit in it being an inch taller than 95% of the population?’. ‘Will it be comfortable?’. ‘But it’s all about the power to weight ratio’... I swear it’s like a bunch of 12yr olds gossiping on here.

There is no c8 news so the moderators are allowing anything to be posted to keep this section alive.

the corvette faithful are just anxious to see and hear c8 news...

the trolls are around because they simply enjoy being annoying in their anonymity....

Agreed some posts are awful, even in other sub forums where some have asked how C7 Z06 owners feel now that they’re car is a relic...or some garbage like that.

What would be beneficial is if the questions were posed as “C8 looks like it may have similar dimensions to a Ferrari 488, does anyone over 6’3” have issues driving that vehicle?”

Just as nature abhors a vacuum, so does the C8 Forum. Misinformation, disinformation, outright lies, stupid-*** opinions and rumors from "a buddy of mine who knows" are mixed in with the occasional (and very rare) actual tidbit of advance information. The bottom line is that you will know what GM wants you to know when GM wants you to know it - and for some reason that just KILLS some people, who must know - or pretend to know - what no one else does. As I've said countless times, those who know, don't talk . . . and those who talk don't know. We are not that far from the official GM reveal, and then a lot of people are going to look mighty foolish. I can wait. And you will have to, whether you like it or not. Anything - ANYTHING - you read on this forum predicting what the new C8 will or will not be, have or do is just speculation.Even if someone was fortunate enough to hear or learn something, that doesn't mean it won't change before production cars appear. So, have a seat and relax - all will be revealed in the fullness of time . . . and I'm willing to bet that most of us will be very pleasantly surprised.

Insults and one-upmanship aren't anything new. I remember when the C5 just came out, I was at a gas station tanking up my C4 when someone in a brand new C5 pulled up. I looked over and asked how he was liking his new C5. He immediately started telling me how much better the C5 was, that it was a “whole new car, whole new design”, and if I ever had the chance, I should take a test drive, and I’d be amazed how much better the C5 was. He ended with, “this is the first year of the C5 and all the 1997 Corvettes will be instant collector items”. I smiled and gave him a Corvette wave. He looked at me apparently confused as to why I was waving.

I love the "Hi, I'm 6 foot 8... will *I* fit into the new C8?" questions.

As if anybody knows or if GM would make the cabin of the C8 significantly smaller than the C7's...

I think they just hinted the C8 will have a 6.6l with 401hp so it can run on 87 octane.

Truth.

Meanwhile, the ratio of stupidity to thoughtful commentary on the C8 Forum continues to plummet.

I'm looking forward to 7/18 as much for exterminating a lot of trolls (who are not probably capable of buying a real car anyways) from the discussion, as much as I am looking forward to finding out actual details about the C8. The speculations of the low IQ crowd have gotten beyond ridiculous.

In the next two months as more trolls are awakened to the impending reality of the ME C8 (some of whom may not even be aware that there were C7s, or even C6s), the wild-eyed speculations are surely going to get worse: Will it fly? Will it time travel? Will it come in a station wagon model? My uncle had a steel-bodied one with a hemi! will it cost a bazzilion dollars? Can I buy one with Bitcoins? Will GM give me one for testing? GAHHHHHH!

Just stop it.

Looking back on Corvette history, would you rather have a car from the first year or last year of a Corvette generation? My money is on the last year...

Both?

Someone posting about idiotic posts on a forum is just that. Idiotic. You can never get any real geniuses to comment without wading through a sea of crap. It's just the nature of the beast.

It's like going to an idiot convention and shouting "you guys are all STOOPID." No offense, but that's just stoopid too...Why are you at an idiot's convention in the first place if you're so much smarter?!

Frankly, I'm not here to pretend I know more than the next person. Shoot, by participating here I feel my IQ level dropping. At least I haven't complained about the level of stupidity here though.

Clearly CF shouldn't open the discussion forums until the car is formally revealed . Get over it... the speculation is the fun part. If you think a thread is stupid don't read it.

How can you tell if a thread is stupid before reading <at least part of> it.
