I wanted to share this video with all of you!
Do you think the C6, C7, and C8 are supercars?

A bargain priced sportscar with supercar levels of performance maybe.. but that's just too long a title.

Real super cars are far more than just raw performance data.

How easy is it to drive the car to get the stated performance data.

If it's anything like the C7 Z06 most average drivers are not able to hit 2.9 second 0 to 60 or 10.9 1/4 times.

GM has engineers / drivers posting these numbers but the average driver is not going to see the times repeatedly.

I have 16 Callaway SC 757 and a 15 458. The 458 is far easier to drive hard and even with 157 less HP is every bit as fast a the Callaway. .

Now I am sure with someone with driving skills above my average skill level would be able to make the Callaway produce after 0 to 60 or 1/4 times that the 458.

But I bet the average driver can get faster time from the 458 .

Car hooks up better and the chassis never feels overwhelmed like the Callaway does.

Then there the quality of materials used and the fit and finish that separate a super car from a an excellent performance sports car which is what Corvette is.

Then there a level of exclusivity in a super car that is due to limited production run and the time consuming restraint of being mostly hand built.

Weit all that said I have had a deposit on the C8 for 2 years.

I can't wait to have aGM rear mid engine with V8 and a DCT with GM reliability that can be driven without Hugh concerns about the mileage and how much depreciation happens by driving the car and piling up the miles.

I rather have my 80k to 90k C8 depreciate 20% to 25% in 1st year vs a 300k Ferrari at 10 to 15% depreciation.

Sportscar, Supercar, Hypercar, Ultracar...they are all the same thing. Just marketing terms invented by magazines and manufacturers to deliniate higher end sports cars from the rest. An MGB Convertible and a Bugatti Veyron are exactly the same type of car. One just is more expensive and exotic than the other. Don't buy into the hype of anyone who tells you different. Just like despite what some manufacturers want to tell you, there is no such thing as a four door coupe.

Here you are again pimping your YouTube channel not just in the C8 forum, but also the same exact thing on the C7 forum. So you've got two discussions going now. NOT impressed.

IMO yes. Supercar in my view relates more to performance which the c8 will have.
C8 will not be an “exotic” which connotes more exclusivity and rarity ...and expense.

If the base model out runs a new Ford GT, it's a super car!
