Default When do you think we can see one?

I know the unveiling is in July, but does anyone know when they may appear in dealers to be seen? I hear there is around 100 complete cars out there.
I will be in New York in October, near Potamkin Chevrolet, it would be fantastic to be able to see one.

There are only a very few show C8 cars, either four or six in number. There are already (confirmed fact) way, way more requests than GM can send those few show cars to. There are so many competing places for GM to send them too, not just Pebble Beach Concours, Corvettes At Carlisle, NCM for its 25th Anniversary, SEMA, LA Show, etc.

My opinion is that unless you are talking about a dealer which chooses to purchase the “C8 visit to their showroom” program, (cost of $16K/one day or $25K/two days), that the chances of a dealer seeing a C8 prior to calendar year 2020 is close to zero.

The best plan of action IMO would be to contact the very largest Corvette dealers near your area and see if any of them is planning to purchase that “C8 visit to their dealership program.” If not, in your area, find the one(s) closest to you, or visit one of the above listed places.

We remember at the identical time right after the C7’s reveal that it was very difficult to get a specific list from GM as to which places, including which auto shows, that the C7 was going to be sent to. It only was shared as time elapsed. Might there be a very large auto show around your area this coming fall?

Best of luck.

^^^ Thanks for the answer, so I guess I will be out of luck. I am in New Zealand so zero chance here until someone buys one in. I was at Bloomington Gold in 2013 when the C7's were shown, would have been great.

Corvettecolin, here is what I did to get to actually get to SIT in the new 2014 C7, even a Vert, long before it even showed up at the Corvettes at Carlisle Show in late August, 2013. And that was on June 15, 2013 at the Annapolis, MD City Dock Corvette Fun Show. Here is the link to the Corvette Annapolis Club with lots of pics from a number of their events.

https://www.corvetteannapolis.com/gallery

What I did was to continually search in the CF Upcoming Events, Northeast (includes NY area) until I found a link to that Annapolis MD Corvette Club announcing a new 2014 C7 would be there. Doubtful of that info the wife and I took a chance and did a day trip ride to Annapolis. If the C7 wasn’t there we still could enjoy a nice Maryland Blue Crab Feast. But the C7 was there and everyone was invited to explore it both inside and out, even working the top. What a thrill and beautiful it was.

So maybe you can get lucky and find a C8 nearby to see on your October trip to NYC which is after the 07/18/19 reveal.

PS: That’s not me in the C7, I’m fatter but better looking (in my mind).

I'm hoping an actual picture or two gets out before I go to Carlisle.

Awww... with the reveal being on July 18 you'll definitely get quite a few pictures before Carlisle. You might even see one at the Dream Cruise in Detroit in August.

My local dealer paid for the GM traveling C8 show thing... not sure what the formal name is. They'll have a big reveal night and let everyone on their C8 list try on the car. I'm debating going to Carlisle to see the car, but I know it will be mobbed and I doubt they'll be letting people sit in it.

If it's a huge dealership like Kerbeck for example you probably will start to see them by the end of 2019. But if it's a small dealership it would probably be by late January 2020. I don't know i'm just guessing based on other corvettes in the past, and how the pattern was on them after their reveals.

I am the Corvette Manager at a Chevrolet dealership and we signed up for the $16,000 one day tour. Just waiting now for a date when we will get it. We are planing a big day when we know the date. Inviting all of our C8 order list customers, several local Corvette Clubs, past & present Corvette customers, and of course the general public. Should be a big day for the dealership.

As I have mentioned before, I think GM should put one on display at the NCM ASAP after the reveal, doing them a big favor by increasing attendance.

Does anyone know or remember if and when they put the new C7 at the NCM?

ED, my wife has family in Minersville and is only about 100 miles from us. Good excuse to take a day trip to your Dealership. Have someone Serve some local perogies and Halupkies (sp? ‘Pigs in a Blanket) along with lots of Yuengling Lager. Please send me a PM or just update this thread when the tour date is set. Thanks

I really hope they do a nation wide tour with the C8 once it's revealed. Chevy did a Finding new roads tour with the 6th gen Camaro after it was revealed with other models and Tom Peters and other engineers were there as well. It was nice to see the car in person and chat with Tom and the others. Great experience.
