I hope not. If the C8 does, then I'm not doing any road trips with my Corvette buddies where a C8 might be behind me. I don't want to be rear ended a thousand miles from home.

If I were to guess, and that is what it would have to be, a guess. I would think breaking and lane change alert type of things might show up. Insurance companies are big on items like that so cars are now loaded with safety features. Taking away the fun of driving, at least now you can turn that stuff off, but soon you won't be able to.

I taking deep breaths, I’m trying to not launch into attack mode, but WHY would you want a sports car to even provide the minimum autonomous features when the whole concept is to get connected with the vehicle. Big question - are you a

The C8 will certainly have blind spot and lane departure capabilities, and probably adaptive cruise control. Since GM has introduced their “Super Cruise” system in a number of their 2019 and new 2020 models, I would not be surprised if it becomes an option on the C8 Corvette no later than 2021.

The only real super computer is the ability of the human driver to use good judgement, the day self driving cars are common is the day I hop on the bus Gus.

Why not? Just turn them off if you don't want to use them.
I don't understand this resistance to autonomous driving. Its not like someone is FORCING you. It's an option -- like cruise control.

If I have no plans to use an autonomous feature, yet my new car has that feature included as standard equipment, why should I be paying for it, just so you can get it in your car?

Dont need a stereo, why should you pay for that..
Passenger seat, dont need that, remove it, dont want to pay for it.
Never driving at night, High beam, do not need that, dont want to pay for it...
Live in cold location, no need for AC, why should you pay for that.
Electric windows, remove, do not want to pay for that.
Rubber on the pedals, pufff, remove..

I like little aids like blind spot detection, rain sensing wipers and automatic adaptive high beams. I find these to be helpful while not changing my driving experience. I have adaptive cruise on my Macan Turbo, which is very improved over adaptive cruise I had on my Avalon, but still acts up. I’d rather not have it on my Corvette.
