So the scoops on the side of the new c8 look like something a fighter plane from the sixties would have. Dorky, clunky and weird. If that is the design then we are all screwed. Honestly the whole rear quarter looks like a cap to hide the reality. I found this 18 hours before the reveal on Rick Hendricks site in Virginia beach. Did somebody upload the real deal? I hadn't seen this rendering and it doesn't look like one.
The "general" shape Chazcron is showing is one of the first shapes I predicted early on based on the CAD drawings and he and Bvds agreed with and adopted.
The others I show above are ALL shapes that "eyewitnesses" claim are correct! V shaped, Exactly the Viper shape, rounded, sharp angled, bottom half covered with a black panel like the Aria car., Down to the rocker, half way down the door,, back further...... all descriptions from "eyewitnesses" ! I rendered them all so we could see the differences.
I believe the blade area is not 100% and that there must be a cover trim of some sort. The area above the scoop opening that blends to the fender top is a question in my mind. I am sure it is not as harsh and boxy as seen on the mules and Chaz' model and feel it must blend with the scalloped door/fender lines better. I also believe there will be a deep groove detail around the top edge following the shape of the scoop.
