Default This new render makes me feel all warm and tingly inside..

Thank you to ZoraC2. If the new Mid Engine C8 looks anything like this, certain body parts will be parted with and will be sold

Neither am I.

Not until I see the C8 in person.

And what's with that aero blade down the door length. Looks like a rocker panel in the wrong place.

LeMans just started.

Airflow conditioner devices and shapes have their very own descriptions. Blades don't exist in aerodynamic nomenclature. The only thing that makes that side intake work, is the Coke bottle shape of the car. Separation or high Reynolds numbers down the side of the car, or any car, is a huge aerodynamic problem. That shelf you speak of attempts to attach or reduce the laminar flow down the side of the car. The leading edge of the side intake is critically placed to cause a 'wash' or a deflection of the airflow toward the rear surface of the back of the door. There is full attachment at the entrance.
The two things that are extremely detrimental to airflow is that 'Stingray' type character ridge at the top of the door. The shelf at the bottom corrects the damage this traditional Corvette styling feature causes.
As for the 'beak' at the top of the intake, it can't possibly exist as shown. This is a high pressure high drag area and fools everybody because it is fake. No air will flow through that gap, it will only deflect, 'wash' up.
Up wash and down wash are important aerodynamic terms. Newton 3.

Not a fan of the side intake, rear spoiler, or how tall/huge the front end is.

NIce render but the proportions seem a bit off to me. But nice to see another's idea of what may be coming.

Thank you for that in-depth response. When I look at this render, it looks "good" to me. But.....there are some things that make it look awkward to me as well, ie, that side "shelf" toward the bottom of the door.

I guess what throws me off is how prominent the leading edge is of that "shelf". It is very in your face, not an invisible line that begins and slowly, but progressively expands as it goes toward the back of the door.

And why is it curved upward in the front and then come back down? Why not just start the damn thing where it needs to be then run it back and up the door? It looks too damn "busy"

if you look at my photoshop below, the RED LINE denotes that curved "shelf" on the door.

The BLUE LINE denotes a line that parallels the crease on the upper door itself.

Why is that red line curved? I suspect, for proper airflow?

The back seems disproportionately long to me. I know they can wedge an LS3 into a Cayman so the engine can’t be taking up all that space,

Sorry. That design looks chaotic, fat, and ungainly as all hell. Just when my hopes were rising...

Way too early to tell. Even when we see the real thing, still have to see in person, and next to prior generations to compare.

Of teh many renders we've seen, the only think I can "nit-pick" on this one, is that airflow design on the lower portion of the door. If that is necessary, it would have looked better being a straight edge, not curved up in the front (aft of the front wheel). Other than that, I think it looks very acceptable. And my favorite color, Arctic White.
