And before you go mention home prices, I live in one of the ONLY Southern California neighborhoods where home prices went UP during the housing crisis in 2008. What I paid for, and what the house is worth now, can probably DWARF more than half of the house in some of the more ritzy beach areas in Orange County.
What SoCal city do you live in?

Would GM actually use a venue that has been used before to showcase a car that is so "brand new?" Maybe the hangers are deceivingly obvious and the real location is elsewhere!

Whatever happens, I can only hope that Mahk finds a way to get inside.

Here ya go..
CHEVY - "UP" — ZACH MERCK - DIRECTOR
https://www.zachmerck.com/chevy-up
This stunt was all done practically by my amazing team - there are no special effects. Bojan Bazelli was on the lens - Kimo Proudfoot, Martin Schaer, and Luka Bazelli as operators. Evan Rohde and Gill Gayle designed the set. Per the agency concept, I needed to figure out how to pull four stories of cars out of the ground! Trying to build traditionally and demo was out of the question and too expensive. Cut to me having a revelation at the Coachella music festival staring at a band on the main stage, when I realized that the size, structure, and weight limitations of the stage was perfect for our concept. By Monday we were on the line with the vendor. Shot in the OC Blimp Hangar, we rebuilt the Coachella main stage inside the space! This live stunt involved multiple layers of stage and production, 10 cameras, an underground railroad track, lifts, grip, and rock and roll to pull off in real time, and we did it. We surprised five focus groups that day. Proud of this one - this is dead real, and Evan Rohde needs to win awards

It's been confirmed that those Hangar scenes filmed for the "Real People Not Actors" ads were indeed at the blimp base formerly know as MCAS Tustin. If they can use them once, they can use them again. I just hope that the Reveal doesn't Go Over Like A Lead Balloon......

TUSTIN HANGAR USES
The Tustin Hangars have seen a variety of uses over their lifetimes. Temporary uses such as filming, events, and storage have been the most frequent since MCAS Tustin closed in 1999. In the past, major films such as Austin Powers (1997), Pearl Harbor (2000), and Star Trek (2009) utilized these buildings because of their unique size and architecture.
The City of Tustin currently rents out the South Hangar (near the District) for temporary uses on a case-by-case basis. The North Hangar (near Veterans Sports Park) is not usable at this time. While the City is open to any and all use proposals, not all uses can or will be approved.
The City hopes to expand the use of this amazing building for filming and other temporary uses. In recent years, major companies have used the South Hangar including:
- Acura
- Audi
- Chevrolet
- Disney
- Goodyear
- H&M
- Lexus
- Lincoln
- Nike
- Tesla

Tustin's promotional video for hangar rental is pretty cool, and they show parts of the commercials that have been filed there.

Significant engineering (and budget) for that 1 minute commercial. Imagine the possibilities for the C8 Reveal!

That is worthy of a repeat for the C8 ME. I see two possibilities if they do. You can add more.
1) Start with the C7, then drive off. Then the next the C7 Z06 followed by C7 ZR1. Last the C8 is revealed.
But what I really hope for is:
2) Three to four layers of C8s. Start with the C7 ZR1, C8 Targa Coupe, C8 HT Vert, and end with a C8 Z

Don't even bother with the C7s.... start with all the ME prototypes over the years leading to the C8.

They're not going to drop multiple models at once. That would be a waste. Coupe at the reveal, convertible later in the year, and the Z next year. Maybe in conjunction with the C8R.
