Default GM, please hire professionals to film the reveal live stream

Only a very small percentage Corvette enthusiasts got tickets to the C8 reveal. The rest of us will have to watch the live stream instead. My only request is to please hire professionals to properly light and film the event. So many of these reveals are done in a dark room, with harsh spotlights, so you can barely make out what the car looks like. Sure, maybe the people there can make out the car, because the human eye has much more dynamic range than a video camera, but no one outside the venue gets a good view.

We have lots of video, lighting, audio and production professionals here in Southern California (Hollywood is just up the road) that could do a wonderful job of giving viewers at home a nice view of the car and the event with good commentary. Also please us current streaming technology such as 4K and HDR.

Thank you.

I hope they do too. I'm the President of the Corvette Club of Kansas City, Missouri. We're going to have a Watch Party and stream the reveal.

IMO there will be lots of watch parties, in clubs, at dealerships, gatherings of all sorts. I support the suggestion of an event broadcast worthy of recording and repeatedly playing

Default RE; Streaming

I wonder if they will use Akamai services for broadcasting a live stream since they already use their CDN and Securtiy.

Unfortunately, the only way to live stream a Mid Engine C8 Corvette is 'vertically' while being filmed with a potato....

That is such a great thing to do for the reveal. I am going to text a friend who is an officer in the Western PA Corvette Club with this idea from you guys in Kansas City.

I really hope I can do this personally from YouTube. I took two days off of work.

I spoke with Harlan today at the Bloomington Gold event and warned him to make sure GM has enough band width for the reveal so the servers don’t crash. They are going to put a link up on the Chevrolet web page for the live stream.

If they do it right and multicast it, there should be minimal network impacts.

Makes zero sense not to. Plus, the footage from the audience will be a wide range of quality. The major media reporters will easily have top notch photos and video. We will all he checking here and getting updates that reveal won’t have. It’s going to be awesome! No need to worry or be skeptical, just be ready for something amazing.

Did the OP watch the C7 reveal? It was fine... no issues seeing the car. Non-issue.

Another low budget introduction typical for GM and they need some changes in their advertising department and start spending some money. Everyone goes after Porsche but they make some great advertising videos.

Porsche has a fan base who needs to be constantly reassured that the financial kick in the ***** they receive is worth it.

To be honest with you, in my opinion, it wasn't great. Real filmmakers can shoot something a lot better than that. Given that this is a landmark car, they should have professionals filming who know what they are doing. This reveal will go down in history, and it will be something people will look at 50 years later.

With cheesy rock music blaring in the background while the 'videographer' offers useless running commentary that starts with, "Hey Guys!"
