Great- more unnecessary weight and price added to the car.

I wonder what % of owners will be driving this in the winter? They should've made it an option- most people don't want/need this feature.

Hopefully you're just trolling and you're not serious. Because that is ludicrous.

I will be enjoying it when driving with my top down in the fall and early spring. A heating element in the wheel will add basically nothing. But, it is one more thing to fail that's for sure.

Well, I drive mine in the Winter, of course since I live in north central Florida, we get only three seasons here - and WInter is left out. Heated steering wheel is perfect for Florida and the southwest - can't imagine how we lived without them in the past!

Why the eye roll? People are always bitching that the car isn't nice enough or "Porsche enough"... then they add a new feature and people complain?

You got to be kidding me....................just what we are looking for in a "Sports Car" don't forget to put your driving gloves on so the hands don't get too hot!

Because of the following:

1. I am not one of those "people" you generically reference
2. None of my cars have a heated steering wheel now, including my Audi SQ5 and wife's Mercedes GLC 300
3. At least make it an OPTION since many people live in areas of the country where a heated steering wheel is as useless as **** on a bull.

If it is an optional item only (which the article did not say) then fine. Otherwise,

i saw the heated steering wheel button on one of the spy shots of the machine. i was overjoyed. I always thought heated grips on the bike were for pussies, then i got heated grips! man o manachevitz - what was I thinking ! They are awesome.

one day the wife comes home with a new jeep - complete with the utmost in stupidity - a heated steering wheel. Well let me tell you my corvette brothers - that is THE ****! the most awesome option of options. I was sad when I bought the c7 and it did not have this bit of magic.

now if the bastards would only put back the third pedal!

we have a heated wheel on our cayenne gts, and even down in SC we turn it on for those few cold mornings/nights...I doubt the extra 3lb (at that) will have such a critical adverse effect and one's track time...I mean wax time...I mean...on/off ramp racing

I have a feeling they will. They leaked that centre console showing no room for a manual shifter on purpose. This way everyone will be overjoyed when they announce the 7 sp manual.

Now heated grips on a Bike make 100% good sense to me. A jeep, depending upon configuration, possibly. Otherwise, make it an option or swap it out for the third pedal.

I love my heated steering wheel in my Buick GS. Had it for almost 5 years and no problems, can't see it adding a whole lot of weight.
I will be happy with this in my C8, along with other creature comforts that have been added over the years. Power seats, a/c, and an infotainment system, power window, cruise control, power steering. WiFi, apple car play....
seems like the car is going to be a GT vehicle, oh darn, another old man "sports" car from GM.

It's a "nice to have" feature--just like automatic windows instead of roll-ups. Sorry if it bothers some people.

I couldn't care any less about a heated steering wheel. That's just another possible electric gremlin to deal with in the future in my eyes. Just like the modern infotainment systems...too many do-dads that I don't want or need.

It's a good move to show the C8 is designed to be a daily driver, not an exotic car garage queen. I won't get any use out of it here in SoCal, though.

Did they mention anything about a cooled steering wheel?
