Excellent. Hopefully the boosted variant.

Thermal management on this rig will be key. I hope they are flogging the daylights out of it.

They need to get this aspect correct right out of the box, as they won't be given much of a second chance.

Who were the user(s) here on the forum who claimed the reason for the c8 delay was actually due to overheating, an idea that most others disputed?

I am not wanting to stir up an old debate, I am asking because I would like to keep tabs on those users who know what they are talking about. Apparently, whoever first claimed the C8 was overheating, is a person who is indeed connected. I saw their post about 3 months ago, but can't find it now.

If they would just wipe the love bugs off that thing we'd have a good look at a white C8.
Hope it tests out fine. I am tuned in to this thread ( yes, pun intended )
Good advertising also.

1. How do we know they went to the Ring, if indeed they are there now, to test the cooling system?

2. Why would they need to go to the Ring to test the cooling system? There are much warmer climates in the U.S.

If they were overheating last ring attempt, the public would never know. GM would have to come back to set a respectable time.

I am still trying to find the user who posted that overheating was the problem. "C8 Overheating" yields too many results. I think the person might have said "they heard from a birdy", I remember because I thought the person was clueless. Turns out I was the clueless one. Hindsight, overheating makes sense now.

Here's the same Prototype (069 M 478) testing on track last year minus the "Cheesy" 07.18.19. Again, Stay Tuned.......

You're looking for MikeC7 or Irun4cops or bbbvettes.com (interestingly the only "emerging vendor" I've ever seen morph into a "former vendor").

All of them have been banned (and many believe they were the same guy with different User Names).

All peddled in fantastic stories of overheating, electrical glitches (shut downs at gas stations became a particularly entertaining moment), chassis flex, glass breakage, etc.

More drama and rank speculation than actual facts. Certainly nothing anybody could hang their hat on (like you seem want to do here with overheating).

Oh - and can't leave out the mysterious law enforcement, FBI/CIA wrinkles the author(s) brought to the table as well. I was waiting for the MI5 connection next, but alas, the last variant of the guy got sent to camp.

One chance to get it right.

And like I said elsewhere, another 12-month delay wouldn't phase me at all.

Why would GM go to the time and trouble and expense to send cars to Germany for "cooling" work?
As I type this, it's 75 degrees in Nurburg. High tomorrow is 85
As I type this, it's 111 degrees in Phoenix.
Mid 90's in Willow Springs by Tuesday.
Ditto Bowling Green.
Plenty of hot places in America to test cooling systems right now....

Goofy side scoops are even more goofy looking in these shots...

Gawd... I sincerely hope that the real scoops don’t look like that....

Default Warped sense of humor

What if that camo hiding the side scoop is screwing up the air flow so badly that GM can't get the cooling correct

Yeah, I would think they'd be testing them all over the place. And definitely in the hot climes.

If they're testing the boosted cars which most everybody assumes won't be released for a while after the base ME, then they've got time to do all sorts of running/testing/calibration. As I'm looking to get one of those as opposed to the base, I hope they're running the **** out them breaking all sorts of **** on them.

I doubt these are the "boosted" cars. Base wheels and tires on the cars.
