That they take some people from the audience, and film a "Real People, Not Actors" commercial right on the spot.

I’m thinking that it’s mid engine. I know for the enthusiasts, like the people on this forum, that’s going to seem like old news and a downer, but the vast majority of people out there probably don’t know a thing about the C8, or that it even exists. So, they will create a bunch of hype about it being mid-engine.

If it’s priced around $60k, I doubt it will be anything a whole lot more than just the fact that it’s mid-engine. Some of the higher end trims will probably have some other tech, such as AWD and/or hybrid power.

I bet the renders are dam close.

I am going with “hard top convertible”. Push a button and the thing folds up. However I want active aero and that is an option I would click.

Default Enjoy the speculation

I might be in the minority but I actually enjoy the anticipation and not fully knowing what it will be. This reminds me of being 10 years old and riding my bike to the local car dealers and checking out the first generation mustang, the GT350 stang, the Shelby Cobra, the C2, first generation Camaro etc.

I read the car magazines that had renderings of upcoming models, went to Lion's drag strip in Long Beach Calif several times a month, and so many great cars back then.

I am a little baffled by those that are tired of the speculation. For me, it's part of the fun.

I am thankful for every manufacture now that builds cars with performance, style, and with Passion. Whatever the new C8 looks like, I commend GM for building it vs only appliances.

A local Corvette tech is going to Spring Mountain at the end of the month to drive and learn about the C8. He said that there will be a couple engine options including a twin turbo 3.8 V6. Anyone else heard this?

  1. The rear spoiler is fake.
  2. The side scoops are fake.
  3. The heat exchangers in the rear are fake.
  4. The front grill openings are fake.
  5. The creases in the bodywork are fake. The actual styling will be a bland, rounded shape that won't offend any internet critics.
  6. Chevrolet is listening to the forum members who say that a mid engined Corvette cannot succeed. Therefore, the real engine will be an air cooled flat four cylinder, located under the front "frunk", driving the front wheels only.
  7. The entire volume behind the passenger compartment is dedicated to golf bag storage. Eight golf bags can be carried.
  8. There will be no convertible - the folding top would compromise golf bag capacity.
  9. An optional passenger seat delete will allow two more golf bags to be carried in the cabin.
  10. Every car will be delivered with an embroidered duffel bag containing a set of 48" waist denim shorts, a Hawaiian shirt, and a pair of white New Balance athletic shoes.
  11. There will be no front engined C7.5. But there will be a C6 7/8.

C8 is pure battery-electric.
The interior panels are made out of weed.

I think the LT2 will be something other than standard single cam in block. The quick image in the first teaser video shows a massive dual-gerotor oil pump and a 2nd timing chain.
Manual ofcourse. I have a feeling they are hiding it so that it will.be the only thing everyone talks about... I hope they dont screw the design up as they did with Silverado and camaro after Ed Welburne left.......

Default Will be Mid Engine

After considering ME for over 50 years I have to believe, want to believe, Chevy will have one sharp looking car for us to see on 7/18! If they do not it will be a shock and a disgrace! What worries me are some of the recent designs, blazer, camaro nose and some other hideous design elements. The back of the C 8 is still a huge worry! 14 days to go. Happy July 4th everyone, we are blessed that we are able to have a forum like this and so thankful for those that gave their lives for the freedom to do so!

Transmissions that shutter, valve springs that break, valve guides that wear, bearings that fail, wheels that crack and bend and orange peel paint.....just saying

That the FME layout was a better daily driver sports car.
