Very correct Deb, GM did a fantastic job with the current ZR1 and all but a very few trolls will agree.

It is comical to note how the Ferrari owners here who bash the Corvette quality on a daily basis have C8 pricing all figured out for us. It must be a regal pleasure to own an Italian exotic and have the privilege of pontificating to the common Corvette enthusiasts and owners.

That is what the BMW I8 does.

Amazing to me the "big deal" the I8 owners were all jazzed up on is the ability to reprogram the sound generator to mimic other cars.

The electronic equivalent to putting playing cards in spokes.

GM's big surprised is they saved a lot of money by letting the Cruz team design the rear of the car.

About time you came to grips that they're simply better and smarter, in every way, to us common plebes.

This would honestly be amazing and much appreciated.

GM does a Steve Jobs "oh, 1 more thing" and announces it will only accept a C7 in trade on a 2-for-1, like-for-like basis after admitting they knew what would happen to C7 values but they just don't care.

I apologize if this already came up, i gave a quick skim but didn't see anything.

What about a split window, even if its just an option? Haven't really seen that mentioned anywhere with all the other crazy rumors being thrown out there but it makes sense given they seem to be using a rear view mirror that uses a camera like the Caddys so the visibility issue that nixed it in '63 is gone. Every prototype has had the rear engine cover covered, which has been assumed to be to cover the engine window, but what if theres more to it.

But with all 16 cameras a split window won't be an issue.

But I do like the manual window option.. Hope the Vent windows are crank like the 67...

That it looks exactly like all of the renders and leaks so far to date. The big surprise is that there will be no big surprise....

The big surprise is the ugly Camaro rear end.

The "BIG SURPRISE" will be Mid-Engine since unless you are remotely a "car guy" you probably don't even know a new Vette is coming let alone that GM is putting the engine in the rear.

Regardless, other than an actual manual transmission, what I do want to see is a 7 - 8 dual-clutch trans instead of a slush-box as the auto option. If they don't keep the interest of the video game generation, by by Corvette in the future. AND, let's face it, even the Mustang is getting a proper paddle shift option.

The biggest surprise would be if the rest of the car didn't look half-assed.

Default Renders were too good!!!

The amazing renders and GM two year delays made this rather anti climatic. Not sure what surprises can be left for base model? While GM had no actual date we all know a car worked on since before the financial crisis and C7 should have been launched by now.

Hey at least now you are complaining about Ferrari owners.

The dual clutch transmission IS a manual transmission. Adding a standard foot pedal operated clutch in front of this DCT would be the cat's meow. Gear shifting would be by steering wheel paddles, no shifter ****, but the fun and utility of using the foot clutch would be returned. I don't want to go back to waiting on synchros and missed gear shifts. This manual/ auto mode would be the best of all worlds rolled into one.

The biggest shock of all will devastate Corvette Forum: when the car is revealed on July 18, it will look just like the leaked CAD drawings, the New York camo'd prototypes and the "blue car" spy photos. It will have prominent side scoops and Tadge will explain the thermal and aerodynamic rationale behind the design. And yes, there will be room for two 'effing golf bags.

Not so shocking: several forum members will insist that any car revealed on July 18 will be completely fake and will invent conspiracy theories to explain it away. Some people will insist that the car is fake even after they've seen it at their local dealerships.
