great work by Car Spotter and thanks to Corvette Nut for sharing. even kicked up some dust and went over some curbing. quick shifting trans. still that big V8 sound. car understeers but stays pretty grounded. terrific straight-a-way shot at full song. this was a treat prior to the reveal. thanks again!

I was exactly thinking the same thing, watching the video. The one with the darker camo, and the production headlights, seemed to me to be way faster. Im excited about it. That thing looks quick.
And, whats crazy is, all of us are so used to looking at the renders with this POS side scoops on the car, when we see the real thing, were going to want the fake side scoops back.

Thats the scoop I’ll be expecting on the 18th...
I don’t understand why the talented artists on this forum refuse to acknowledge this scoop suggestion...
The renderers must see something that I don’t see.

Nothing like some Corvette hatred to start the day!

It looks so composed compared to videos of previous gen Corvettes.
It's going to be a great car.
I hope the weight can be contained.

I am entitled to my opinion as you are.
Neither of us have right to insult each other. Please stay civil.
Thanks

As for the video, that darker one is definitely different than the others. It seems better planted, has a different exhaust note, and doesn't appear to have the tail wag I was seeing when they were hitting turns hard... just seemed more controlled.

Opinions on the looks of the C8 are totally meaningless at this point as the photos are of cars in camo.
Maybe you should wait until the reveal before you unleash your attacks.
"jack of all trades mentality". Troll remark.

The biggest problem corvette has had was never the location of the engine.
It was the engine power/torque characteristics over powering the chassis and this was a side effect of increased weight and dimensions. This again was due to GM trying to build this car to be jack of all trades to please different market segments.
You simply cannot add size, weight, and counter it with power at levels Corvette has been and have a good result. C7 is a very unbalanced car in Z06 and ZR1 trims.
Take a look at a GT3 or GT3RS with less than HALF of the torque and 250 less hp beating a ZR1 in a road course. When will you guys see this? These cars are not/cannot be the track warriors. GM needs to build a lighter, N/A, smaller car to compete with a proper GT class car.
Watch any ZR1 track videos and do the same for GT3. Watching ZR1 is like a driver constantly fighting the car. Watching GT3 is like pure synchrony.

Oh, and Porsche built roughly 550 GT3s in 2017, Chevy built 32,xxx C7s.
I'm constantly impressed by everyone that knows exactly how the C8 is going to look based on camo'd cars.
For the rest of us, less than 2 weeks to go!
Have a good one,
Mike

- Updating his Facebook
- this looked like fine-tuning suspension/chassis/powertrain tuning to me. Hammering it through corners, slowing up on straights while the passenger tweaks some settings on the laptop. Finishing up 'Track Mode' on the drive mode selector!
- Must have been a manufacturer's day on the Ring - - light traffic, most of it in camo.

That might explain the turbo spools that we’ve been hearing. They’re doing a final ring test/tune on the base C8 while also conducting testing/tuning on the C8 “Z06”. The latter is using a twin-turbo V8, so you’d hear a bit of spooling from them. I wonder if the turbo noises get more intense with the muffler bypass valves open.
