If not, hopefully, they correct the looks for the "up" models (Z06 & ZR1), which are the only models I would be interested in anyway.

I agree. More than any generation in my lifetime, when they introduced the C7 base model, in Z51 trim, red and black with the exposed carbon fiber roof... I genuinely lusted after it like I would an exotic. They did a great job on the base model Z51, Iím expecting similar things with the C8. Gone are the days of a very bland and underwhelming base model IMO.

My opinion - the 458 was a better looking car than the 488 or the P8, much cleaner lines. I really think the 458, also being the last of the NA engines, is the "keeper" car of that V8 mid-engine era.

The 458 Speciale is my dream car.
However, to be honest, I wouldn't kick any of the Ferrari MEs out of my garage.

Much better than a plastic fake chrome and vent that rubs the paint of the fender like on so many Z06 Vettes.

I am hoping for a leap forward with the C8 in overall fit and finish.

I will say the paint on my 16 Callaway looks great after I had it paint corrected and ceramic coating.

With that said I had to do the same with my Ferrari paint correction then ceramic coat .

Paint quality from car to car is pretty close.
Yea, and If donít order the shields, in which the fender is indented, believe or not hurts the resale.

I find the paint quality better on the Corvette than my Ferrari, which has a special metallic finish. Neither are great without paint correction.

Of subjective, to me, the 458 styling and and NA engine is timeless. Kind of like the last of air cooled Porscheís.

I like the cars but its never been a dream car for me...but the 458 is the first one that had me putting pen to paper.

Thanks. The new Ferrari convertible with paper temporary plates I saw a few months back in traffic, was an awesome sight.

Depends on the Ferrari. They have laid some eggs just like any other automaker.

Perfectly said.

I'll never understand why people are disappointed with the looks of the Corvette. What did they expect in a car that costs about the same as a full cab F150 or your run of the mill Infiniti SUV? Just be glad it even exists, period.

I thought the F430 was cool, but when they brought out the 458 I could not believe how awesome that car was. Love Ferrari, Lambo and Mclarens, and I guess GM is catering to guys like me with the C8 remake.

The 458 is a beautiful car. The C7Vette is a beautiful car.

They are 2 very different vehicles.

I hope the 458 depreciates enough to hit the $150k mark and I’ll get one.

The 458 is the pinnacle of NA vehicles. The only reason to buy one is because you can an it’s the pinnacle of driving.

THAT right there is enough.
IIRC, there was only ONE Ferrari that was a turbo: the F40.
All others have been NA...and the 458 was the last of those.
If ever there was a car with built-in collectability, it's that one.

Ferrari 288 GTO
Love the 458 and 488, but if I won the Lotto, this is the Ferrari I would buy. A bit nostalgic but the essence of Pinin designed Ferraris. The 299GTO.

I think we will see a greater similarity of the c8 to this mclaren GT rather than the more passionate ferrari models...

check out the link and hit the video to see the mclaren GT in motion on the track...

Attractive design doesnít have to be expensive. Look at C2, C3, C4, C6,C7, last gen Fiero etc. they were all attractive with reasonable prices.

Dom, I still remember when this car came out. To this day and without considering price, it would a tough choice for me :: Mclaren F1 or the F288? Decisions, decisions!

I have owned 2 Ferraris and 11 Corvettes, all of which were my daily drivers. (currently a C7 Z51 convertible). I will be at the reveal and will order a C8 convertible at my first chance. As far as looks go, that is a subject that is completely subjective, and there is no right or wrong. I happen to feel that the last truly beautiful mid engine Ferrari was the 360 Modena and 360 Spider, and front engine Ferrari was the 599. I think my triple black C7 Convertible is more attractive than the last 3 generations of mid engine F cars, but, as i said, that is subjective. However, as far as reliability goes, the Corvette easily tops the Ferrari. Unfortunately, generally speaking, Italian cars are substandard when it comes to reliability and maintenance.
