I'll be shocked if it's over $64K base and not terribly surprised if they come out of the gate with a $59,XXX and then take increases in the first year like they did with the C7.

My guess is there is a 10% bump on the 2019 Corvette price so it'll start at right around $61,490. Also with the leaked rear.. while it's not that bad, it's not the look of a $80K & up car.

I mean, the Z06 will probably have the same rear though and that will certainly be an $80K+ car haha.

I too am of the firm belief it will start at $62K-$66K.

I don't think anyone has enough information to really form an opinion. Nobody knows what is standard, what new tech is included, etc.

I think if tradition holds, it will be a sub 10% increase over the C7. But "tradition" is going out the window here, since traditionally the Corvette was FE. So who knows what will happen? I doubt if will be the $100k+ base that some claim it will be. My guess, as low as $60k to as high as $75-80k depending on what comes standard and what's new other than just the engine position.

The formula of base that is affordable and higher levels that are much more will continue. It will not change just because the engine is behind the driver. GM will not make the base car with the expensive goodies that will kill Corvette sales.

Why would it? With only an LT motor, Cruz rear bumper, only one gear box...

I don't think the base will be much higher; I *do* think the out-the-door pricing will be about 10K more for the same 'equivalent' as the C7.

In other words, the option packs will be more expensive, any 'taxes'/forms/docs/etc. will be more expensive, etc.

An >80K base would be a killer for this car. And with the back-end supporting a 'friendly' Chevy look, there is no way in hell that they are going for the 'super car' up-scale look. No... this is a Chevy through and through.

I know a lot of people didn't like the C7 rear but I actually loved the taillights when I first saw them. They are much more aggressive and new age than the previous gen to me and worth the $50K range starting price. The C8 rear from the leaked pic just looks generic and not worth $80k & up if that makes sense.

$80k negative ghost rider. The Z06 better not start at much more than that. $86k base, for a Z06.

I thought I read on this Corvette Forum that the base price for the C8 was $169,000. Is that wrong?

No, the base price is to be around $60,400 according to a reliable source. But I believe it to be few thousand higher to account for the included DCT ( Dual Clutch Transmission by tremec. If these cars start in the 80K range GM will be done and my prediction is , unless the euros start buying them like never seen, they will sell less than 20,000 Corvettes the first year and will lead to the demise of the Corvette

The car will have an updated LT1 motor or the LT2 motor as it will known Producing 480 to 500 HP instead of the 455 HP.

OH DEFINITELY , the C7 tail lights are more appealing than this leaked photo of the rear Fascia. At first when I saw the C7 in 2013 I hated the tail lights. I love my C7 and may not got forward with the C8 id it id as ugly as the photo I saw today.
