2020 C6 of the Year Winner - Modified
Just curious about why GM Management decided to do Reveal date on a Thurs workday if 7/18, instead of maybe a Saturday 7/20 date when my local Chevy dealership where I bought my C5 & C7 verts, is hosting a "Corvette Gathering" at the dealership.
As business owner of 25+ years, I always host my clients (customers) events on my most popular day of purchase. My family has purchase 90+% of our cars on Saturday when we have more leisurely time, rather than 7-9pm free time on a working week day.
I would imaging a local Chevy dealership do a nice event on a Saturday afternoon, invite current & maybe future Vette owners in for free/discounted oil change, watch Reveal on high-def big screen, have brochures avail, snacks, drinks, & then a table for taking purchase orders...

Dreaming- I know!
Well think back to how Dodge shocked the automotive world with the 707hp Challenger Hellcat introduction!
Been reading for years that Chevy can get 1000 hp out of the current engine but C7 could not handle it. So ME was the next iteration, so imagine the C8 base at 718hp, take that Dodge! The next versions released, get all the to 1000hp Zora!
I know just dreaming! Fully expecting base engine at 500 to 525 hp.

No, I'm not an GM Executive, so I haven't known the feeling of going bankrupt & need to be bailed out.
All the above posts makes sense, very convenient for GM Execs.
But I rather go watch the Reveal & hang out with my fellow Vette enthusiasts at our sponsoring dealer, than watching it at work or worse at home with my wife giving the "You're not gettin' another Vette" look...

Not that it will matter to most people, but Saturday, July 20 is the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing.
