From the camo pics, we know the rear is not flat. On the contrary, it's extremely curved with the mid to lower center area extending out much further than the sides areas. It's somewhat difficult to see this in this single leaked photo for several reasons. However, in some of the spy pics, it's quite evident that the spoiler curves greatly to follow the shape of the rear fascia. You can also see this in the way the exhaust tips are staggered to follow the rear fascia shape. I think the shape/angles of the rear license surround will also make more sense when you see the rear fascia from different perspectives ... and without the camo. I'm looking forward to the reveal, and I believe the rear and the whole car will look quite amazing.

I like the C8 rear a lot more than I liked the C7 rear at first sight. I'm more interested in the interior and the tech gadgets and handling than how much the rear end appeals to my senses. When I got into the C7 for the first time, that was what sealed the deal for me. I'm not looking at the car's *** when I'm driving...I'm looking at the dash, feeling how the car handles, see how comfortable I am in the seats, playing with the gadgets/infotainment, listening to the sound system...that's what is really important to me.

Default Rear end view only as passed.

The only folks seeing the rear end are those being passed.

Shout outs to the people mentioning "judgement/judgment" in this thread. I appreciate the sponsorship

Meanwhile, I'm more of the "let's see everything" camp...for the moment. I'm not getting a C8 regardless, but at the same time, I don't want the brand to fall on its face. This is especially evident if that equates to the lack of sales. Lost in the aesthetics is the specs of the car, price, etc. Once all of the layers of the C8 lasagna have been applied, will it equate you to wanting the car? I've already decided, but I'm definitely going to be up for this reveal to see Chevrolet play their biggest hand. Here's hoping they deal a full house (without the Olsen twins) and not a pair of 3s.

Or when the car is parked, which is 90 percent of the time. 😂

Both myself and a lot of other folks disagree. What we're seeing here is yet another replay of the venom expressed prior to every new Corvette reveal, when little details are leaked.

As revealed in this poll, the vast majority are smart folks with a wait and see attitude, who want to come to that their conclusions after seeing it in person. The knee-jerk haters have generally dissipated to a tiny number once every new-gen Corvette starts populating dealers across the country.

Sometimes I glance at the leaked rear photo and see Lamborghini and think, maybe this is a good look. Other times I look longer and it sours and looks awful.

I am holding out hope that this picture was taken from long distance (which is why its cropped and grainy) and makes the rear end look flat, taking away the depth that it needs to look right.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you are right because I want to see myself in a C8 one day - I just don't like this initial look. This week is dragging already.

We now the C8 rear is very convex... so maybe that will help. FWIW the C7 rear looks horrible in pictures, but I grew to really like it in person. I'd open my garage coming home from work and think, "That looks cool".

I wonder how much they are still drawing inspiration from the 2009 concept car for the exaggerated convex shape of the rear?

That's a bad attempt at justifying an inferior offering from GM/Chevy. I always like to look back at my cars when I walk away from them so I'd be seeing it as much or more than anyone else.

I see the rear of mine every day I come home from work that I don't drive it when I open the garage door. I may have to start backing in

50% is a majority now? Also, I wasn't aware that having an opinion meant that you're not smart. I think a lot of people don't want to actually accept this is what the rear end of the C8 is going to look like and are hoping for a magical transformation between now and next Thursday. Unfortunately Chaz's renderings have been preparing us for this and even though I hoped he was way off it looks like he had it nailed the entire time.

So, don't buy one. Very simple. Why waste your time criticizing what you dislike. Keep whatever you have. Life is too short.

MAGA.
