50% is a majority now? Also, I wasn't aware that having an opinion meant that you're not smart. I think a lot of people don't want to actually accept this is what the rear end of the C8 is going to look like and are hoping for a magical transformation between now and next Thursday. Unfortunately Chaz's renderings have been preparing us for this and even though I hoped he was way off it looks like he had it nailed the entire time.

You salvaged your post with the MAGA salute, but the bottom line is it's still a discussion forum and criticism should be accepted...and in this case encouraged if that is indeed the finished product. I've been looking forward to the C8 ever since it was announced, but if what I saw in that rear end pic is what we're getting I may very well keep what I have. I sat out the C6 generation because I never warmed to the design so I have no problem doing it again.

Although, if it turns out I don't like it and don't buy one, I do hope that there are enough people who like it that GM does not see the mid engine platform as a failure and abandon it. I do think mid-engine is the future even if after the reveal it turns out I don't like the aesthetics on its first iteration.

I'll reserve judgement until I can see the entire car and in person. But to be honest, my wallet keeps me firmly planted in the 5-7 years old market. I am most hoping that the new C8 will push the early C7s down to a point I can afford to upgrade from my C6 soon. One can only hope.
Plus, one thing I have finally figured out after 30 years of driving. no matter what a car looks like on the outside, you can't tell while sitting in it. I think the interior and driving dynamics will drive more sales than one exterior design aspect or another.

Formulating a knee-jerk opinion based on a photo or photos on the internet is not the smartest approach. It's like a Dr. diagnosing your conditions without a full examination and test of all your symptoms.
I've seen what's been happening here in response to that poor quality picture of a blue C8 rear over and over again. The same thing happened here in response to the C7 tail lights the first time those pictures appeared. I didn't like them either, but after I became familiar with the total package, I grew to love them. I'm pretty sure the same thing will happen with the C8.
And BTW, I do back into the garage, because I absolutely love the the 3/4 rear view of the C7 design. My avatar here was chosen for the same reason.

you could look at this in a few ways..
there is a slight majority (just over 50%) that are undecided.
of the decided, there is a significant majority (54% of 315 votes) that hate it. I or someone else will post another post-reveal poll to see where the numbers move, then maybe another for when people have had a chance to see it in person if it takes that to formulate an opinion.
love it, like it, hate it, not decided are ALL VALID POINTS OF VIEW. I don't know why people get so butthurt because someone expressed an opinion.

It's very simple. The vast majority DON'T hate it based upon that picture.

No, the majority are probably like me. I voted "wait and see" even though I think the butt is acceptable. I don't love it or hate it, and I don't evaluate a vehicle on the basis of one nose, tail, or panel. There are a lot of cars I like a lot, that have at least one feature I'm not crazy about.
Fixating on a picture of one panel strikes me as incredibly silly. It's the entirety of the car as a package that makes me love it, hate it, or just meh.

Incorrect. The vast majority have reserved judgment until they see more, which is very different than saying that hate it or don't hate it. Of those that have voiced an opinion in the poll, a majority say they hate it.

I said a majority don't like it
you just stepped into the logic trap. you don't like it, you're in the near 50% group. along with 27% who hate it. 50+27 = 77 which is a V A S T majority. A super majority if you will

And you just stepped into the same trap. In round numbers, 51% are undecided and 22% love it, so that is also a super majority of 73% who haven't expressed "hate" for it.

Last time I checked it was 51 (50.9 ish) percent were waiting to see to pass judgment. That qualifies as a simple majority. Not that a majority of people like or dislike, they're waiting until they see the whole thing before... so I guess that's technically undecided which counts for nothing then?
a simple majority by any term is defined as "a majority in which the highest number of votes cast for any one candidate, issue, or item exceeds the second-highest number, while not constituting an absolute majority." So by that definition... the 50 cents is not but this poll was a simple majority in those waiting to pass judgment. So if it were 33%, 33%, and 34% the 34 would be considered that. For all we know they all hated or liked it though (I would speculate the undecided lines fall along the like an hate lines as well meaning that it's about 50/50... as is every thing lol.) I'm waiting because one single shot of one spot means nothing until you see the whole thing.

It's growing on me... I remembered how ugly the C7 rear was in pics, but much better in person (I owned one for a couple years until 2 weeks ago).

I'm guessing that the C8 will not have the cross flag emblem on the rear of the car. When Harlan and Tadge pulled out the new C8 emblem in carbon flash and chrome trim versions at the National Corvette Museum's Bash in April, I asked Harlan if I could take a photo of the new emblem next to a C7 emblem. He graciously accommodated my request as seen in the photo below. I asked him if the emblem was the one for the front or the rear of the C8 and he replied that it was for the front. While that doesn't confirm my hypothesis that the emblem will not appear on the rear, it doesn't invalidate it either. It really doesn't look like there is a good place for the emblem on the C8's rear.
