Actually looks better with angular body. I do not think the C7 round tips work well with the rest of C7 angular body style.

The Porsche is better executed instead of being a round exhaust squared off like the C8.

Agreed... but Porsche is truly square; well tilted square whereas the C8 exhaust is actually a rounded square or a squircle (real shape, look it up) which is the same as the new steering wheel. It'll be interesting to see them in person.

C8s looks awful and cheap. Porsche's look great, although still more a fan of rounded exhaust.

Why couldn't they just make dual exhaust that filled in that area and more trapezoidal. I'm sure most will slap on a better aftermarket exhaust once they get it. I would.

The center mounted, four exhaust tips is played out. Corvette has had that since 1997. it's time for a change. This is what the C8 is all about.. CHANGE. I have two C6s. A'12 ZR1 and a '10 GS. Both have been very reliable. I never warmed up to the C7. Too cluttered, tacked on of a look. At 72, I am ready for something new.

I'll reserve final judgement on the tips until I see them in person. They will probably look better than the leaked image. Need to see them vs. the diffuser and the while car. I like how they stick out some and are visible.

Don’t like square tips at all. Two lg or 4 round flared tips. Looks mean. Too many new cars having square style tips. JMO

Changing exhaust tips might be the easiest mod you can make to a car. I don't understand the hangup on exhaust tips.

Wait until you actually see the cars in person, instead of comparing an edited press photo from Porsche vs a leaked low-res spy shot of the C8. If the C8's tailpipes are at least real then they're already better executed than the Porsche 992...

Porsche wants you to think these are the tailpipes:

But those are actually just covers, as the real tailpipes are set further back:

There's an interesting debate on that... personally I like tips as part of the bumper as alignment is always 100% perfect. However, there was an article late C6 time or early C7 where the GM guy in charge of exhaust said that as long as he was around the Corvette would always have "real" exhaust with tips vs. the fake bumper-integrated ones.

The oval tips on the new 992 look horrible... like one of the tip options on the old C5 days

The offer a better 4 tip option

Porsches well implemented, the c7 picture looks awful. 7 days to go.

The C8's squared out exhaust tips are clearly a nod to the early C4's exhaust. Chevrolet has been doing this forever. They like to "tip their hat" to previous generations with these small details in their designs.

Square exhaust was never out of style. It has always been a more rare styling choice but has been used many times over the years. If the car has curves, round or oval are normally used to compliment. If the car has a few hard edges, square may be more appropriate. In any event, I have no issues with the exhaust, it may be the most interesting part of the rear of the car.

The amount of delusion here is truly breathtaking. "My square is better than your square."

You do realize both cars have round exhaust pipes that are capped with a square opening, right? Do you people even hear yourselves?

Reminds me of the old Borla systems that were popular on F Bodies...
