People have been complaining that the interior has not been upscale enough for years. So they design an upscale interior, and now people complain that it is too fancy. They just can't win.

Personally, I think it looks great. I thought the steering wheel looked a bit odd at first, but then I realized it was designed for easy viewing of the center display. It also has an upscale look, which I appreciate. No one is going to mistake this steering wheel for a cheap one that came out of the GM parts bin. HVAC buttons are easy to access without leaning into the dash.

I say "Mission Accomplished".

REALLY looks like a Cadillac interior. They call that platinum with ebony seats. Love the interior, except the steering wheel (middle of it). Like the shape just not the center.

Agree 100%!

The C7 forum made me laugh... for years and years it was “Corvette seats suck”... car gets good seats “OMG these make my butt hurt” “they’re too stiff” etc.

GM has a very hard job indeed.

No, I see seat heater and venters there, too.

Interior-related, I hope they put an even better stereo option. I've gotten to liking the Burmester in my Benz, and would rather not be downgrading. Give us an audiophile option, GM!

Yes, but I would classify those as climate control features. The heated steering wheel button is on the steering wheel itself, though.

As long as there is room enough for air turbulence in the cabin to blow out my nasty farts after a bison burger, I am fine.

Yeah, I'm one of these old guys who still likes a shift lever on the floor. And let's not forget that a large number of old guys have contributed heavily to Corvettes success over the years.

So TRUE, and so overlooked, yet so important..... YES, a great sound system is truly important.

I hope that they offer a high-end audio option like that too. It would be one less feature that the Corvette lacks compared to the 911. There were rumors that Cadillac’s Bose Panaray sound system would be available in the C8. If it is available, here’s what you can expect(use a good pair of headphones/earbuds):

I just don't understand why they couldn't get the geometry done better with regards to the placement/shape of the wheel to the viewing hole for the instrument cluster. They really didn't spend alot of design time on that it seems. I don't sense alot of flow to the whole interior design, looks like each sector was designed separately and then someone at the end said "hey I can't see the instruments" so they ended up with that steering wheel.

I hope that wasn't sarcasm, because to some of us it definitely is.

With modern cars, changing out the stereo is nearly impossible, so other than maybe swapping the physical speakers or possibly wiring in another sub, you're stuck with what you can get. I feel that putting consumers into a situation where they have no choices, because the manufacturer is either saving money or incorporating LCD-based controls for radio, AC, or whatever, the least they should is offer an option for better.

NO sarcasm. Most,if not all of my posts, are sarcastic so understandably it is fair for you to be suspicious, but, NO, I really mean it.

Unlike most people who would rather listen to the sound of the engine or exhaust, I so love and prefer great music while driving, a curved road, and a sports car.

I truly believe that good sound only enhances the driving experience.

But, possibly I am not that picky since the sound in my C7 is quite good. Possibly not a 9.5 or 10 but surely a 8.5 out of 10.

I would have to say that the Bose system in my 1992 was actually better.

^^^^^^^. That MB interior looks like a ‘Circle Jerk’ to me. Count them, at least 11 circles all over that dash. More probably we can’t see.

Would you blame GM if they targeted an audience who could potentially purchase three Corvettes over their lifetime or those of us who may purchase only one more?

.

MY FIRST IMPRESSION looking at the steering wheel, and first words that come to my mouth are ----- SPACE SHUTTLE. ( looks like the steering wheel or hand controls for the space shuttle)

lets play a word association game...

What are the first words that come to you, when you look at this Steering wheel head-on ??

It will be upsetting if the steering wheel has that stupid bar in it that cadillacs have. I dont remember what they call it. The one where they have a camera watching you the entire time. No thanks.
