Wheelbase? Has anyone measured or scaled it
The C7 wheelbase is stretched out to 106.7”, up from the C6 at 105.7” and the C5 at 104.5” This allowed the compact ohv V8 to be behind the front axle, creating a near 50/50 weight balance. One price to pay with additional length was additional weight.
911 wheelbase is 96.5”, about 10% shorter. Not surprising that the 911 weighs about 10% less.
Will the C8 have a shorter wheelbase than the C7? Will the compactness of the ohv engine be a benefit? Or will the C8 be a porky pig?

They have done that before, maybe 8-9 months ago?!

Skank and FVS independently did that and both came to the same 106.7” (plus or minus 1” due to scaling factors).

Wheelbase on the C6 was increased to make additional room for the A6 vs the A4 and the wheelbase of the C7 was increased to make additional room for the A8 vs the A6.
Since the transmission in the mid engine will be mounted behind the rear axle, there is no reason to have an extra long wheelbase. If the C5/C6/C7 had had the transmission located behind the rear axle, they could have had a shorter wheelbase. The AMG GT has the transmission located behind the rear axle yet retains the front mounted engine and also has a torque tube. The AMG GT also has a 47/53 weight distribution which is much better than the C7's while having a shorter wheelbase than the C7.
Hell, my 1964 Corvette also has a 47/53 weight distribution with a short 98 inch wheelbase. Replace the heavy cast iron engine, that is located behind the front axle, with an all aluminum engine and add a carbon fiber torque tube and prop shaft and then place the transmission behind the rear axle and the weight distribution would really be something to talk about.
