How to watch the C8 reveal on your TV using a Windows laptop
I saw someone ask about this in a different thread, so for those of you who would like to watch the long-awaited reveal of the C8 Corvette on your TV, here are instructions and solutions to issues you may encounter. I am unsure if this will work with an Apple laptop or Chromebook, but it will work with any laptop that uses Windows.
Materials needed:
TV
Laptop
HDMI cable
Step 1: Connect the HDMI cable to your laptop and open your laptop
Step 2: Connect the other end of the cable to your TV, using an HDMI port located in the back of the TV or on the side.
Step 3: Using your TV remote or the Input button on the TV, change the input channel to the name of the HDMI port which you plugged the cord into. If you are unsure of which HDMI port you plugged it into, make sure that the screen of your laptop is on and flip input channels until the laptop screen is displayed on you TV.
Step 4: Your laptop screen should now be displayed on your TV screen. You can click the following link to open the Chevy Pressroom website, where the reveal will be streaming live: https://media.chevrolet.com/nextgenCorvette The day of the reveal, there broadcast should appear on the website in the same way that the other videos appear. In order to make the broadcast full-screen, click the square icon in the bottom right corner of the box in which the broadcast is displayed.
Troubleshooting
If your laptop screen is blurry or not full-screen on your TV, go to the settings on your computer and find the section that includes "Display"(on Windows 10, this should be under the System section of the settings). After selection that section, You should see a sub-section titled Resolution with a drop-down menu. Select the option with the largest numbers(such as 1920x1080) and check the image displayed on your TV screen. If it is still blurry, try other resolutions options until you find one that works.
Step 5 (optional): If you would like to keep your laptop screen off during the live stream, you can click both the Windows key and and P key at the same time. This will bring up a menu on your screen with multiple display options. There should be an option called "Second screen only". Click on it to disable your laptop screen. Note that your laptop's mouse/touchpad and keyboard will still work while the laptop screen is off. You can re-activate your laptop screen by pressing the Windows key and P key again and selecting the "Duplicate" option.
Troubleshooting
If the letters and/or icons on your laptop screen are too small when displayed only on your TV, use the instructions in step 5 to re-activate your laptop screen. Now go into the display settings mentioned in the previous troubleshooting steps and find the sub-section titled "Scale and Layout". In the drop-down menu of this section, select an option higher than the default option(I'm using 175%). Now press the Windows key and P key at the same time, then select the "Second screen only" option again. The letters and icons displayed on your TV screen should now be larger.
IMPORTANT THINGS
IN ORDER TO RESTORE YOUR LAPTOP'S DISPLAY SETTINGS AFTER WATCHING THE REVEAL, YOU MUST GO BACK TO THE SETTING MENUS I HAVE MENTIONED AND REVERT ANYTHING YOU CHANGED TO ITS DEFAULT OPTION.
YOUR LAPTOP WILL STILL BE USING ITS OWN POWER DURING THIS, SO YOU MIGHT WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT IT IS EITHER FULLY CHARGED OR CHARGING WHEN USING IT TO STREAM THE REVEAL.

Or, if you have an iPad and a computer, simply watch the reveal on the iPad and stay tuned on this forum on your computer to read the reactions as they occur.

Yes, the Firestick, Chromecast, and Apple TV are all better ways to watch the reveal on your TV than using a laptop and an HDMI Cable. I’ll actually be watching it using an Xbox One X. But not everyone on this forum has one of those devices or is tech-savvy, so I thought that that I should post these instructions. Someone is bound to need them or use them.
