The 80's called and wants its button stack back
Don't get me wrong love the new C8. However, anyone else think 80's, C4, when you saw the button stack on the right?

Not in the slightest. I had two C4’s and neither had a dash that even remotely looked like today’s C8. Further, there was no row of buttons on either of my C4’s. Can you post a pic of what you’re referring to?

Hey, retro is the new "today". I'll reserve my personal judgement until I see it in person....it was very unique.

There's an 80's car with similar button stack?

How is having buttons down lower in the console safe? We're already unsafe by having to tinker with a touchscreen to adjust things, taking our eyes off the road for seconds at a time. Now I gotta fumble and bend my arm down to my side just to turn on the A/C? Come on GM. You could have done better.

I'm not really a fan of the line of buttons on the C8, but no, it has nothing in common with the C4 or any other car from the 80's that I can think of.

Looks more like a 991 911 or maybe a 4-5 yo Panamera. Upward sloping console (to account for the massive center tunnel that makes the entry/egress as easy as possible) with linear buttons.

The overall interior design is just flat out weird. Some will like it, some will hate it.
I agree its not a deal killer but you have to wonder if the designers ever sat in a competitor's car before. That tacked on Ipad on the dash is just horrible and the steering wheel looks anything but "serious".

Just saying.. take another look at the late c4 interiors... the new car definitely has styling cues lifted from that era.
That button stack screams 80's, so those the exhuast tips.
By far is how organic/dynamic the overall car looks compared to the c7 design. It has more involved.. something you can stare at for hours and not have to worry about the wife slapping you across the head!
Know what I mean??

ABBA survived the 80's. Not sure we are looking for them to come back.

I have a solution for you, don't buy a C8. Problem solved. You're welcome.

Steering wheel looks racy and I like it.

I am still wondering how that will be for the passenger. Most of us will be in the drivers seat but these pics make it look like the passenger side will have a big wall.

That's why I love it... born in '81 and it's a great blend of 80s cool and futuristic.
