Who is waiting for the Z06?
So the C8 Stingray is an absolute stunner with the performance to match. With that said, I can't help but think how much greater potential the Z06 has.
If GM got the Stingray to go below 3 secs, faster than the C7 Z06 as Tadge said .. I can't imagine what how fast the Z06 will be going straight and on the track.
I'm tempted to pull the trigger on getting in line for a Stingray but will try very hard to resist the temptation and wait to at least see the release of the Z06 with solid numbers to decide.
What's your take?
Just playing around with the visualizer.

I took delivery of a 2014 in October of 2013 only to see the Z06 come out in 2015. I ended up buying a 2017 Z06. This time I wait for the C8 Z06.

I'm waiting. Gives me a few more years with my C7 Z06.

I see no point in downgrading just because it’s newer. I’ll hold out and see what the Z version is like.

I'm tempted to wait for the Z06 as well but that's another year and a half of waiting. Is that worth it? A large part of me says no because for one, I have a need for speed. Two, I think the Z51 is plenty fast out of the box. Three, I can always trade my Z51 in and upgrade to the Z06.

I'm at least waiting to see the Z cars to make a decision. Will the Z06 have "got to have" options/features that warrant the larger price tag? In the past I've found the Z cars superior visually - will I again? Will there be convertible models in the Z trim? Will I be able to spring all the way to a ZR1 or will the Z06 price point already be hard to stomach?
I'll wait and see - if I end up getting the Stingray, at least by then the Z car introductions may put some gently used ones on the market for me.

A cam, heads, headers, and tune in a C7 LT1 makes anywhere from 530-580whp. Probably the same with the LT2 but now with DCT and mid engine layout.
A car like that should easily be in the 10s.
The Z06 would have to have more than 755hp for me to be interested in spending that much more money on one.

Really liking the car so far, but 495 hp doesn't excite me when my 2009 C6Z has 505.

Even though I walked into my garage this morning looking at my C7 Stingray like "why did you age so much overnight?", I still enjoy the car very much. So I'll keep driving that for a few more years.

I wonder if the Z06 will be widebody as they traditionally have

I only have 14,000 miles on my C7 Z06 and love the car. I am waiting for the C8 Z06 and will buy it as soon as it comes out. It's going to be a heck of a car.
