What effect does C8 pricing have on the good old C6?
I’ve never owned a vette and probably won’t but if it’s the last thing I do, I’ll have a vette! My dream car is a Z06. Will the C6 Z’s hold up their prices with the announcement of the C8? What can they be had for?

A c6z06 is like high 20k low 30 now. How much lower do you think they can go lol? Almost Cheaper than a base new camry. So if you are telling me If you can't even afford a camry you are doing something wrong in life or under the age of 18

The C7's had a brief appreciative effect on the C6's ( I sadly totalled my first C6 in 2015 and got more than I paid for it)
I think it will hit the C7's the hardest, the ones trying to sell at MSRP in dealer's lots. C6's should hold their current values while rarer models like the C6 ZR1 or some C6 Z06's will actually appreciate due to lack of manual options.

You are down in the low $30K range already. My opinion is that C7s will be hurt worse than C6s by a long ways by the release of the C8.
Sure a base C8 is rad and about $60K, but really a nicely appointed one is high 60s and that's a pretty different marketplace than low 30s.
Also, ya know that LS7, although being pretty unreliable, is a pretty unique piece.

When you don’t live in the US and everything is doubled to get it where I live, it’s easier for you to sit there and say that. Not everything is peaches and cream in other countries... a guy can dream can’t he??

Where in your profile does it say you live out of country and since this brand and members are mostly here in the U.S why would I assume anything different? No one is crapping on your dream here in the states that is reality.

The C8 will have no effect on the C6, lol. Age and mileage are the only things that will affect the C6 and even the used C7s. The only C7s that will get affected are the ones still sitting on the lots when the new C8s arrive. This happens with every new generation and nothing changes.

I don’t think you will see a flood of C7’s on the market. You will see a spike as early adopters buy a C8 at MSRP or above and take it in the shorts on a C7 trade but most guys will wait for the discounts to begin after the initial hoopla dies down.

It just simply doesn't happen that way. It didn't happen when the C6 or C7 was released.

I never loved the C7, but absolutely love my C6.... i also loved my C5's. I didn't even get the bug to buy a C7 when the price for a new 1LT 2019 dropped to $45k. However, I'd definitely spend $60k on a !lt C8 lol
GM is gearing up to appeal to a new generation of people and did this with the C8. I've noticed that most C8 haters are older people...... the ones that think it can't be a corvette if the engine isn't in the front and it can't be a sports car unless it's manual shift.
is what it is and the times are changing. I personally LOVE the C8 and plan to get one once they start hitting the used market (i'm sure the wifey wouldn't agree on a new one LOL) but I've already talked to a lot of people that said they will no longer buy a corvette since it looks too foreign now.
all a matter of personal opinion.
