It was SO quiet. I hope it was in stealth mode or maybe the audio equipment wasn't able to pick it up. Porsche had this same problem with the first year of the 718 cayman/boxsters and they got so much flack that the 2nd model year cars came standard (according to the porsche dealer I was at, manhattan motorcars).

Hopefully Jay Leno's full drive will give us more insight.

Jaguar F type S V6 or F type 8 cylinder IMHO has the best exhaust for a non-exotic right now. Ford Mustang GT and C7 are close behind. I was hoping the C8 would match that of the F type S.


Fast forward to the end when Jay gets into the car and drives off. Cold start...nothing great tbh.

Agreed, that is pretty weak.

There is a video out there, just posted, of a red c8 pulling out of the gm facility. Guy on the side of the road records it driving away. And it sounds MUCH better. Perhaps the one with Leno is the base mode, and the one I saw in the video is the performance exhaust, not sure, but it sounded like a good V8 should.

I HOPE YOU ARE RIGHT!! But the GM marketing team is out of their mind for letting JAY LENO OF ALL PEOPLE drive a crappy exhaust C8!!! And we have to snoop around youtube for C8 exhaust clips.

Yes the track ones before reveal sounded decent but not as good as the C7 IMO. Oh well, time will tell

If you are worried its just the sound guys boom arm mic to focus on a specific distance it just was filtering ambient noise out.

Do you seriously think that video is representative of the actual exhaust? Leno "took off" at about three miles an hour. I doubt the thing shifted a single gear on its slow trip down the middle of the hanger.

It was in stealth mode. Also, if you look at the cutaway of the car they had at the event, it's another big suitcase muffler in the back. Get rid of that and I'm sure it will sound like a beast.

Don't worry guys. If you don't like the exhaust sound, Borla will have a fix for that pretty quick.

IT sounds awesome , even with some pop and crackles too. Jay just had his mic close to his mouth when he got in the car and started in quiet mode I guess

Jay was wearing the mic, all the sound was from Inside the car. Camera didn't have mic turned on, must have been a Bluetooth mic that Jay was wearing.

I had new exhaust on my C6 on the second day I owned it. Not a big problem to solve.

Tadge said in a test drive with C&D that they were still working on the exhaust sound. It is a big problem because the exhaust is so short.
