Under $70K for a base is $53K US. If that's the case, I'm thinking a nicely equipped Z51 3LT will be mid-80's Canadian (mid-60's US).

Ya, I'll bet we have to sign the "no re-sale to the US for one year" on these cars like they do on the ZR1's

Dealer said the C8 may show up January in Canada, but the price will not be anywhere at all at a cheap base price, the dealer will inflate it till kingdom come, guaranteed. Plus the up sale.
Still on my radar if reviews are good.

Stupid question of the day: can someone buy in Canada and drive it across the boarder to own in US?

I certainly hope that 70k Canadian translates to a 54k USD price! Wouldn't that be something if they LOWERED the cost for the new generation??

The link you have above is for the Canada.

Here is another link for Canada.

https://driving.ca/chevrolet/corvett...te-c8-stingray

They both say under 70k

What is conflicting?

Well the economics are going the wrong way, the US dollar is stronger than CAN dollar. 70K CAN is under 54K US

Unless I'm missing something here, GM's announcement of under 70K CAN is telling of what under 60K US actually means.

Nope. Just like a US dealer would risk losing their GM status if they sell a NEW car to someone from Canada, same thing would happen to s Canadian dealer selling to someone from the US

You can, but it has to be emissions compliant and you can encounter a 2.5% duty.

It doesn't work like that... it's not a direct exchange rate comparison. Manufacturers price the car in Canada based on the market and not solely based on the dollar value which, as we know, fluctuates DAILY!! There is way more to the pricing that just the exchange rate. There isn't a car made that has a direct exchange rate pricing difference from Canada to the US (or any other market).

Besides, in Canada, a dollar is worth a dollar and our average income isn't that different than the US. If every manufacturer made their cars 35% more expensive in Canada, we would all have to drive Kia's and Hyundai!!
