My dealer called. They said the order system opens tomorrow!
I'm #2 at my local dealership on their allocation list. They said they are getting 32 C8's in 2020 and 8 of the 32 will be built in the 1st initial batch that gets queued for production.
They called and said Workbench is supposed to open tomorrow and they set an appointment for me to come in to spec out the car and place the official order. Sounds like great news but almost too good to be true. Anyone else heard that the order system opens tomorrow?

I did have 4 dealers tell me pricing would be this week! After hearing it the third time I've started to believe there's some truth to be had.

I asked him if pricing would be available at that time and he said probably not.
It has put me into one hell of a pickle. I am not sure I want to commit to buying a car with a non-refundable deposit if I don't even know the price yet. At this point if I switch dealers I am sure I am going to be added to the end of the heap and will have no chance of getting a car in first half of next year. I could be wrong.

It's a reputable dealership (Cavender Chevy in San Antonio) They are selling at MSRP and they have sponsored our local Corvette club the TCA (Texas Corvette Association) for many years.

My dealer told me July 24 yesterday when I dropped off the deposit for my reservation.
With three confirmations of July 24, I think I’m going to believe it!
UPDATE: He also said pricing will not be available until Aug. 15, which puts me in a bind because I’ve imposed a limit on myself for what I’m going to spend. I still believe a C8 1LT with both Z51 options and choice of wheels will be under $70K.

A dealer telling you that your deposit at this point is non refundable is weak. If you backed out due to pricing they could still have plenty of time to modify the order to their liking on to the next guy in line
That being said, i wouldn’t worry about pricing. There is no reason to expect apples to apples options to be different than C7 pricing

Post the PRICE LIST HERE.
We'll see how valid your assertion is....

Some of you guys are just demonstrating your ineptitude in the legally binding buyers process.
For the 50th time - no one can bond your deposit unless you sign a legally binding contract to buy.
If you consent by entering into a legally binding cintract to buying a car where you don't know how much it is costing you? Both you AND THE dealer have loose screws.
I learned this in Business Law school my first year of college!

You may be No. 2 on the list of people who dropped off a deposit at the dealer, but that has no bearing on whether or not your car will be the second one received. Allocations don’t mean diddly squat unless they match the model and equipment you want. For example, if you want a Rapid Blue car that’s on constraint for a couple of months, the people on the list after you with other colors will get their cars built while your order is delayed. Or if you specify a carbon fiber roof that’s so popular the supplier can’t keep up with demand, orders for cars equipped that way will be constrained - while cars with painted and/or transparent roofs continue to get built. Bowling Green never stops assembling cars - it just keeps rolling along, building the cars for which it has all the parts.

No pricing makes it scary. Were not talking a few hundred dollars either way. We don't know what the price is for 2LT that has a ton more stuff in it than the C7 upgrade..
I figure min 70% of the orders are going to be Z51 and 2LT as a standard and then more options like high wing and ground effects.. Is that $9,000 or $17,000 or $21,000 just for Z51 and 2LT???

That's awesome- I won't be able to order mine in Dubai until November and then it's a 7 month wait... 3 of those months for shipping alone fml
