Chevy Dude did a YT video and he made a strong case that in 2017 that the hue of the LBR color darkened as compared with the 2016 model year. I went to a dealer last year and made this comparison for myself and I would have to agree with Mike. I would have bought the LBR but the I did not like the 17 hue as much as the 16 hue which was brighter red than the darker 17. This is not a repainted vehicle. This was the paint as it came from the factory on a new car. Mike owns a 16 LBR that he uses on his channel.
Interesting. My 2016 C7 is LBR and I too thought the color darkened somewhat over the following years. I guess the only way to know for sure is look at LBR paint codes after 2016 to see if it changed.
If it did, it's a different color.

The paint code has not changed. GM has used that paint on A variety of Chevrolets, Cadillacs, Pontiacs, etc. for years with the RPO code G1E. The paint mix codes have not changed during that time

Chevy Dude mentioned the color codes are the same but he compares side by side a LBR 2016 & 2018 and he admits the colors look different. The video I posted shows the difference.

That can just be normal variance from paint batches. Often times colors will have multiple variants and even sub-variants to certain batches. Very common with silvers, pearl whites, champaigns etc. Same code from the MFG, but large fluctuations in resulting color depending on many variables.
