C8 at NCM for weekend

They are a museum. Museums need functions like this to get funds in order to survive and thrive. Some may feel differently, but given that they are amazing stewards of the history of our beloved Corvette I have no problem giving them money for whatever they need.

We now have a next generation powertrain development Corvette on display in the Skydome that will be here indefinitely, too! In addition to the models outside with the GM booth...

Corvette museum
Will there be some additional c8’s on display for general viewing beyond the black one that I was told would be locked up. Was told GM will have with some c8’s that could be sat in only in the trailer for $70. Do you have to be already registered to get in trailer truck or can I still buy a ticket. Also, will the c8’s on the truck be off loaded at least for viewing. Really appreciate info as it will be a 8 hour trips or me and was was very sick so l had to cancel Carlisle. Thanks

Yes - there will be four under our conference center awning outside, and one outside the GM display building. Not sure what you mean about "locked up". There is not one "locked up". We have the developmental car in the Skydome. It is black, gray and white.

^^^ Why are they charging to sit in the cars? That's BS. They aren't even production models so its not like you are damaging someone's car. These will be in the museum eventually or destroyed. And many dealers have had the same cars as part of the tour and none that I know of have charged a penny to sit in the car.

We are not charging to "sit in the cars". However, you have to be registered for the event to visit the 2020 Stingray display (the building GM brought) as well as to sit in on seminars. General museum visitors or people who show up do not get access to the display without having event credentials.
At Carlisle, you had to be registered and paid for the event to see the same display. At dealerships, they want to bring you in for free to get you to place an order for the car.

Second, there are C8 displays all over the nation. Didn't need to pay anything for the last two in the Detroit area.
Yeah, I "get" that the Corvette Museum may need to fund-raise. I'll also ask how much the museum gets from every "museum delivery". At this point, I can't tell whether it is a grass-roots operation just trying to survive, or a megabuck money making operation. Maybe you can shed a little light on that by posting things like tax filings,

I wish that were the case, but the NCM show is about as close as the C8 exhibit is coming to my area, and if I want to see it I'm in for a 4 hour drive

Just wondering where I should plan to park if I drive in tomorrow. It looks like the parking is reserved and scarce around the museum. The event mentions shuttle buses running from the motorsports park. Is there more parking available around the track?

Parking is available at the NCM Motorsports Park, and the grass field between the Museum and the Collections Building (between 350 and 150 Corvette Drive). Shuttles are available from all parking areas.

Thank you NCM for putting on this event .. I look forward to it and am Happy to pay the $ 70 to see the Museum and See the C8 for the first time at the best Venue there could be for it. ! I'll probably sign up for the Membership as well..

Registration opens at 8am in the Corvette Club Room inside the Museum. Parking opens at 7:30am. Parking is available at the NCM Motorsports Park and the grass area between the Museum and Collections Building with shuttles looping continuously between the areas.
