Default Vinyl wrapped C8 roof

I'm starting to dream up modifications in my head. I love a white car with a black roof. Usually, the car's lines make it easy to decide where the vinyl should start and stop. However, I'm having trouble figuring out the C8. The bottom right looks the most visually appealing to me, but I don't know about a hard cut line in the middle of body panel would look in real life.

Why not just order the translucent roof? It appears black from outside the car.

Or, do what I'm doing. Waiting until one goes up for sale on the forum. I'm retired. I'll drive darn near anywhere in the continental US to pick it up. The Bronx is a no no !

To wrap that size roof, top of the line vinyl would cost maybe $50-$75. It's a pretty easy job to do it yourself and the sky is the limit as far as how much of the roof gets coverage. Even a local shop wouldn't charge more than $200 to do that job. I'm considering wrapping the top in a metallic vinyl to match the carbon flash accents. Plus, I'm not a big fan of the way the translucent top looks.

Bottom right in these but now extend the black along the line of the drivers window and back to the bottom of the glass engine cover...or to the spoiler

What you need to do is... The bottom right panel... but more. You need to continue the bottom of the window pane all the way around the back to the bottom of the rear window. That way, everything above the top of the door is black and it curves in nicely to the bottom of the hatch window. While still leaving the horizontal bits on the engine bay white. Give it a try with your photoshop. This is how I did my C7 and it gets tons of compliments and makes the car look so aggressive.

I'm all in for the last picture (Love the effect) but I was doing mine in a carbon fiber wrap with texture but because you mentioned the carbon flash I would consider that. I will make that choice once I get the car.

I think I see what you are saying. I was thinking of that, but when I looked at real photos of the C8, that line continues to the back of the car. I’d either have to create a cutoff line mid panel or basically wrap the entire rear bonnet.

Hahahahaha! Hahahaha! It’s 2019 brother. People wrap $500k cars in vinyl. Best way to customize your car. Some vinyl wraps look nicer than factory paint.

I love the way the back looks in you photo. That angle matches the lines so well. But I also love the look of the front A-pillars wrapped. Hmm..

Ya, you can try this one first and if you think you need to wrap the pillars then you can do that later.

Keep that treatment but make the header panel white.

Imo the black roof all started with the panoramic roofs from 2005 or so. It’s a good look I like it

I've always wrapped my car roof in black vinyl. In fact, I have an appointment tomorrow morning to wrap "my wife's" X3 M40i. I think the contrast looks sick. Can't wait to get the C8 and give it a similar treatment.

I like this look best, keeping the framing around and cutting the black in until the panel creases.
While you're at it, wrap your rockers in metallic black too to break up the chubby lowers.

I agree, but you don't want too much. Will be playing with it in photoshop until the real thing arrives. Remember "Less is More".
