There are three different listings on Ebay of people selling their allocation slots. Funny thing is all three are using the same VIN : 1G1YY36U275107869. A 2007 Convertible according to VIN check. How does that work. lol
As of now they are going for $35,100, 15,000 and $10,000

Do these people know they're bidding for the allocation and not the car itself? Somebody is gonna be bragging that they got a new C8 for $40k then they'll spec it out and find out it's MSRP+$40k 😂
I've still got 2 allocations / deposits, and I don't think I could transfer either one. So are these people buying used or can you actually transfer an allocation at some dealerships?

What is likely happening is the dealer has the allocation locked in as an unsold order rather than a sold order, then when the auction ends then the winner specs out the car, the dealer sends the order to GM and then the dealer sells it to the buyer.
35k over huh Listen my C8 Z51 has a build date of 2/10/20. I want the car been on the list since 2015 with a goal not to sell her till I get my Z version which I am number 1 on that list. If someone wants her that bad to have it in 1st Q of 2020 that would be very very tempting.

This was happening when the first Viper was introduced. The difference was the Viper was introduced as a limited production vehicle, and several got on waiting lists with the intention to resell the allocation. I read some of those markups I read, were $40K/$50K over MSRP. Here, this looks to be a simple con. I'm guessing Ebay will catch up pretty quickly if the VIN is not correct for the vehicle being offered.
Some dealers will not allow the transfer of an allocation slot to a different person. Even if the person bidding on these auctions was aware they were paying for the right to have an allocation and not the C8 itself, they should also be aware that they may not even have the right to the allocation. The point is moot since there are dealers that still have allocations left for summer delivery.
Seems that several people, as well as myself, have reported these sales attempts to eBay and they are not removing the listings even though they violate their listing policy. eBay is all about the Benjamins and could care less about fraud if that is taking place or not is irrelevant. One of the listings is already approaching 50K. Seems odd there are NO DEALERS listing 2020 Corvettes on eBay, as they have their allotments and can sell them anywhere above MSRP as they can???
