Fake news again! lol.....but, if it went up 20k its still the number performance deal on the market. Like Lee Iaccoca said, if you find a better car buy it....
I’m not totally buying the “GM loses money on lower trim models”. I think it’s more likely that piece of disinformation was put out there by GM execs to:
1. Convince anyone that hasn’t committed yet to commit and put a deposit down on a 2020
2. For anyone holding out for the 2021 model, putting this out there now will create less of a shock if (when) an increase is announced

This type of sensationalism used to be relegated to a few rags that we all knew were mostly fake for the hilarious enjoyment of satire... not so much anymore...
I doubt there will be more than the normal inflation caused price increase. Same as in all the other years. They can make money on the base models. They didn't design the car so they could lose money on the base models. Anybody in a company that does that is going to have a security guard escorting them to the door.
Yep... Prices are going up 69,500 which is still a deal considering it's faster than a c7 145k zr1. The 2020 transmission alone is $9000, to the GM plant.
suppliers be raising their prices considering the loss of revenue which occurred due to the strike.
The very definition of FAKE NEWS. GM, a multi billion dollar corporation with hundreds if not thousands of accountants, advisors, analysts, and attorneys can’t figure out how to price a car they developed for almost a decade. OK.
I would guess that the price of the base car will go up about 1,000 and the options will get a 1 1/2 % increase for the 2021 year model.
. People will believe just about anything they read on the web.
Base price for the 1LT will increase, but include some 2LT options as they have done in the past. I see at best $1 to $2k increase for the 1LT base 2021 model with the included additional options. This will close the gap between 1LT and 2LT trim levels and encourage 1LT buyers to upgrade, thus making the C8 more profitable. It's the smarter way of doing business vs turning potential buyers away from sticker shock.

A good case study would be the latest Nissan GT-R, which had significant price increases over the years (started out at a modest price) despite it being virtually the same car with no significant changes. I wonder how that affected Nissan's units sold and profits.

Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
Slideshow: A Jaguar designer's personal project imagines what a modern front-engined Corvette might look like if Chevrolet revisited the golden age of the Stingray.
