Tacky. Side skirts don't look like they flow into anything. Makes it look ricy. Stuff like this needs to be saved for the wide body model.

Yup those are pretty awesome looking on the real car! I was sold the day the configurator went live...hell I was sold on all the CF bits and pieces.

Nope.

A "No" for me. I'm just not a fan of the "tacked-on" look. I never understood Chevy's C7 rear spoiler designs either.

Well after seeing these on a real car, I’m going to cancel them. For what they cost doesn’t do much for me!! Kinda like the high wing spoiler I also cancelled it.

The torch red C8 wears all those black accessories to perfection ...Not sure it would look as good on any other colour.
The hash marks look much better the they did on the C7....Heck,they actually look great!

Uh ...... No . . . .

First off, the car needed something there, That's why GM offered that option.
I like them, not so much in the carbon flash. They look too plastic. I'm sure they will look way better in carbon fiber.
I'm so confidant that they will look good in carbon fiber, that I invested 4,800 $ with my build.

Thanks! 1st real pic I have seen. That looks like part number 5W8 "Painted Carbon Flash" ($3850) Ground Effects NOT the 5VM Visible Carbon Fiber ($4850) which was all that could be ordered when I paid my deposit. I'll check with my dealer.
SIDEBAR
I had the heavy GM plastic protection on my 2014 Z51 marked badly within 1 month of getting my car because of pebbles hitting the rockers. Installed full length LG Motorsports side skirts and eliminated the marking. I was able to remove the marked, discolored edges GM plastic. Rockers looked new when I sold it.
Ordered the Stage 2 Aero option when I bought my Grand Sport as it has full length side skirts. Not a mark on rockers or lower rear fender air duct opening on my almost 3 year old car.
Ordered the Ground Effects option for the C8 for the same reason, "Form Follows Function" so to me they look great! Think I'd prefer the painted Carbon Flash, which matches my high wing also ordered.

I ordered those in visible carbon fiber (5VM). $4,850.00 option and I like the way they look. Torch Red just like the picture. TPW 3/9.

I'll think about it before I call the dealer!

The issue with Visible CF is what I ran into with my early purchase 2014 Z51. I ordered the Visible CF roof option. The car was held from ordering for several weeks as there were QA issues and it was not available. At that time there was an article about the new low cost hood and roof painted CF being used on the C7. It also said the manufacturer also makes the Visible CF roof but getting all the CF cloth to not stretch and look right was not easy, hence part of the issue with the higher price. It said, "If the visible carbon fiber doe not meet QA standards the manufacturer can prime and send it as a standard CF roof." I'm sure they only got paid the lower price! Wonder if it's the same issue here. Need some visible CF not meeting Q standards to economically make carbon fiber painted carbon flash?? It was the same ~$1000 difference in the Stage 2 option for the C7.
My concern is what I got caught doing with the 2014 Z51. Had the visible CF roof, the LG Motorsports side skirts ordered to stop pebbles marking the rockers only came in Visible CF. Then wanted a splitter. Had to get Visible CF! Then saw the hood vent in Visible CF so bought it. A very expensive option was the cover for the chrome grill bar. There was a thin, real Visible CF that covered it available BUT very expensive. Having spent all the money for Visible CF, no way was black or faux CF tape going to work! Was caught in the Visible CF trap!
Hmm, with C8 Visible Carbon Fiber Splitter and Side Skirts wonder if Visible Carbon Fiber "End Plates" will be available on the aftermarket for my High Wing! SEE it's already started!
When I sold the 2014 the buyer thought the Visible CF looked great so helped get a good price.

It is going to be interesting to be interesting to see what the aftermarket comes up with. Then, to see what the Z06 looks like and has power wise. Then and only then will I roll on the C8.
