Oooops. Need to be careful. I didn't read any articles but I know of an engineer from a major GM component supplier who left his C8 with his brother for a weekend. First thing the brother did was go online and figure out how to do a burn out.

Not saying I don’t believe this, but this is just basically an internet meme. Any other proof that this is actually real?

270 is the correct area code. Curious if they got it up on the flatbed with the OEM tow hook or use a Y-strap on the control arms.

PS I wouldn't call this "road racing". This is street racing.
Road racing is what the C8-R does.

Think factory engineers got a pass on Woodward Ave Detroit in the Muscle Car era. What was good for the auto industry was good for the city.

I'm wondering what poor soul (or souls) will earn the distinction of being the first street fatalities in a C8?

Dark street (not required), one inopportune opened parked car door, one person (or child) crossing the street not hearing the 120MPH blur. What could go wrong? But, even on a "back road", the risk is there. I know several people who have killed themselves or others doing exactly that in far less capable cars. I wonder who will be the first lawyer to argue, "Hey, it was a Z51 so it should have been able to handle it" (defense) or "Hey, it was a Z51 which incorrectly led the defendant to believe it could handle it" (plaintiff), etc. Not that you can't end up in that situation with a base car as the same argument could be made, i.e., "it wasn't a Z51 and that's why it happened". This is going to be an intoxicating car and for some, unfortunately TOO intoxicating.
