Default Why buy a Vert ?? Not enough difference !

Why spend the 8k difference when there is not really a significant difference between the Coupe and Vert.

I ordered a vert myself. I don't think you can financially justify the 8k difference. But there's nothing about a Corvette or any high-end automobile that makes financial sense; otherwise, we'd all be driving Honda Accords. What the heart wants, it wants. It's up to the individual to say, I'm ready to spend my WTF $ on this luxury/convenience. To each their own.

I prefer top down driving for visibility reasons. That said, the nacelles May negate this. I also figure that if I am spending $135k (CDN) on a car I am going full monte. It also looks cooler to me anyway. As well, trunk/frunk space is the same.

Better trunk (or frunk) space. No need to store T-Tip.

I like pushing the button for top down or top up. Had enough of the pull over and put it on. I remember our first removable top which was a red firebird. It was cool at first, but eventually got old, at least for me and the wife could never do it herself. I still have the car, but it is in long term storage. Someday, I will get it out or at least I keep saying that. I like driving with the top down and the convenience of the convertibles was undeniable. I've had two since and still have one. Plus, I still get to put two golf bags in the trunk with the top down with room for some change of clothes in the, "frunk" for overnighters. The hardtop vert was a no brainer for me.

-looks different than the hatchback
-covered engine bay
-separate opening rear trunk
-comes with rear view mirror camera on 1LT
-rear window rolls down
-top removal with a push of a button
-top storage does not interfere with rear trunk space
-cool factor

Attach some dollar values to the above and see how close you get to ~8k

Because it is only your OPINION that there is not “a significant difference”.

I get that and I agree however it's still 8k for just a very little difference with the top down.

It is and then it isn't, especially when you get the car and say, " I shoulda ! ". I get what I want so I never have a second thought or at least that's the plan.

If I wanted a vert I would have ordered one. But when the C8 first came about I wanted to be the first in the allocation hence was able to get the first corvette locally. But unknown to me, it is not a full coupe but a removable top. I wanted a coupe not a removable top. Oh well. At least I'll be getting it sooner!

Top down driving experience should be better even w/ the nacelles. You don't have the hatch to catch air and bluster. Coupes with the top out aren't pleasant much over 50 mph. Now the C8 may be different with the smaller interior cavity and the relationship of the windshield frame to the top of the b-pillar appears different vs. prior gens (may push more air up over the roof opening).

The HTC will be really cool as you can put all 3 windows down with the top up, you can put the top down and put all 3 windows up as well for top down motoring on cold days (add heated seats and steering wheel and you're golden). Lots of people pay money for wind blockers on verts and I believe they've engineered the nacelles and back glass to function as such.

As mentioned, one touch top up/down and full storage even with top down. And for some, not having to clean an engine is a positive.

The only reason I didn't order a HTC is I don't think I'll fit in it with my helmet on at 6'4" as the headliner is thicker. I even went so far as to get it added to the NASA approved convertible list and clear it with VIR for HPDE use

Not all of us can afford that 7k, so I understand your position. Having always been a coupe guy who rarely removed the roof, the HTC was much better for me. The HTC is a game changer for me, press a button and voila
