I believe it took 4-5 years before you could get the supplier discount for C5's. I had been waiting to find a dealer to offer it and finally got it with a 2002 model. I am sure there were some who were able to find it sooner, but they were the exception.
With C7 the supplier discount was available before the first model year was done. I ordered my 2014 Z51 and received the discount. The only issue was that it was made available towards the end of that model year and many dealers would not honor it because the car was still a hot seller.
I am retired from GM and eligible for the discount. In 2014 I was diagnosed with cancer and did not want to wait for the discount. Picked up my C7 in Jan. and I believe the discount became available in March. The same day the price went up $3,000. I will be 78 in July and hoping to get my HTC in May. No time to wait. Live goes on!
I am suprised to hear that. When I went on Furman Chevrolets web site the other day they were showing 4 different C-8's (different prices and discounts)
