Long term, the 2020 will be more rare and valuable than the 2021. To me this is like trying to tell Rick Hendrick they couldn't build him a 2020 S/N 00001, but here's S/N 00001 from 2021 instead. They are not the same, they are not interchangeable.

Of course I'm thinking maybe 50 year time frame.....kinda like comparing a 63 coupe to a 64 coupe. Which would you rather have? The 2020 C8 is a break through....it will be iconic.
They thought the same thing for the 1984 Xfire and 1990 ZR-1.

Interesting. Hoping my 2000 status will translate into a real car!

You'll be 2020 S/N 20,000, not some rare number. If speculating on resale value in 50 years is the deciding factor for buying the car, GM is doing you a favor if you get bumped to 2021 and you punt on buying the car. Not an issue for 99.99% of those buying the car and getting a normal VIN.

If your wealth puts you in the .01% and you're just buying another car to stick in your 20+ car collection and will drive it 100 miles per year, maybe model year is a factor. If you have that money, you would have already offered to buy someone's car or their allocation slot and gotten what you want.

I wonder if they will allow us to get a full 5,000.00 refund if we decline a 2021 as an option.

Seems like that's on a dealer basis. I was only asked for a $1000 refundable deposit.

Indeed. Historically(more recent anyway), first year Corvettes don't command a premium on the used market.

OK that gave me a good laugh. There is nothing unique enough about the 2020 that won't carry forward into these upcoming years. They would need to ban the V8 and drop in a turbo 4 or 6 to for the upcoming years to make that even remotely a reality.

Well, last I was told my HTC Order was still at 1100.

Looks like I won't be driving one for a while, so I might just get my Deposit back from the Dealer and try again down the road.

I wonder what the 2021 Model Year Price increase will be?

Hopefully there is still an April consensus for allocation. The dealers who did not place Sold Retail Orders before today are the ones in trouble. I see Chevrolet giving priority to Dealers with Sold Orders and taking allocation from dealers without Sold Orders. Going to be interesting next month.

This is the first wave, of "excuses", blaming the 6 week shutdown,
Next will come the Coronavirus, TBD impact
We will see how the 2021 prices are impacted; before we bring corporate greed into the equation.

I am also 3000.....who knows now. But I feel similarly to others here. Part of me getting on a list and putting down a deposit was to get a 2020. I understand the unfortunate series of events and no one to blame. But if I can't get a 2020, I'd rather wait 24 months, continue to drive my C7, and then discounts on C8s will/should start to occur.

We will get 2020MY cars but some will have to wait even longer to get them.
