Guessing this won't really work with the natural interior. Looks like it really works well with black though. Looks great.

Very nice. Looks great. What technique did you use? Do you put the marker on the thread and let it bleed in, or do run the marker of over and over. I assume the excess on the seats just wipes off easily?
Also, on your C7 you did, does it stand the test of time?

Why wouldn't it? It's a light coloured thread. From videos I've seen on YouTube the excess seems to just wipe off the seats.

A little of both.. it bleeds and a little running the marker over the thread. Slow and steady is best! I do 4 or 5 stitches at a time and wipe as needed with a damp cloth.

My C7 was a daily driver here in Florida and had 108k miles on it. around 90k I redyed some of the stitching on the drivers seat and the dash and they looked as good as new.

I saw another forum member ( thanks NoSoupforU) used vinyl so I order an orange matte finish and cut it to size.

Quick clean of the center piece with wax and grease remover and the adhesive on the back of the vinyl stuck great!

our stitching looks amazing! If I would have gone with black interior, this would have been the first thing I would have done.

The fabric dye pen I used is a fine tip and when it started to become blunt, I used some needle nose to pull out the tip and then used a straight razor to cut a new angled tip. I usually go 4 or 5 stitches and then wipe any excess with a damp micro fiber cloth. If you take your time, it is pretty easy. Removing the targa top helped give more access. The only tough part was the top of the dash. I had to look through the windshield on the driver's side but it went well. I will finish the rest of the car next weekend.
You took me back to January of 2014 with this mod! I had a Velocity Yellow 2014 Stingray with black interior and the light gray stitching and wanted yellow stitching. I posted in the C7 section...

Best $2.49 interior mod ever (IMHO)

As I have been personalizing my C7, I've simply posted most of my mods in my mod thread. But for the money and resulting impact, I felt this one was worthy of a thread of its own.

I wanted my interior stitching to match the car, so I bought a "Stained by Sharpie" Fabric Marker and went to work on the stitching. Of course, I used yellow, but there are a variety of colors available: http://www.sharpie.com/enus/pages/stained-by-sharpie.aspx

UPDATE: Some going with yellow have indicated that the Stained by Sharpie yellow fabric marker leaves a green tint on their stitching. Others have suggested using the yellow fabric marker that Marvy makes and have indicated that it does a better job and shows more true to yellow. Here is a link to the Marvy markers: http://www.uchida.com/p-267-fabric-marker-chisel-tip.aspx

ANOTHER OPTION: I tried a new option, the ZIG Fabricolor Twin, and found that it matches Velocity Yellow the best. There are other colors, of course. You can view them here: http://www.markersupply.com/zigtema1.html#.VW0zLkb5GXo

It took about two hours to transform the stitching. The process involved staining a 4-6 inch section then wiping the excess off the leather with a dry rag. There were no issues at all and it really looks great (the pics really don't do it justice).

Here are the pics...

To finish the story, this car was named Dual Velocity and I had a lot of fun modding her. It was the first brand new Corvette I had ever purchased too. Everything else had been used purchases up to that point. Unfortunately, Dual Velocity was lost when two feet of water went through a shop where I was having more mods done. Here's my tribute video after we lost her...

I have same build, 2lt orange, black interior. My steering wheel does not have orange stripe at top. Did you do that? I thought I read black interior didn’t have colored stripe.
