I have 2017 Hellcat Charger. Yes it will light up the tires on hard accel but a POS it is not. I have 20K miles on mine and only cosmetic warranty issues (warped door panels). I've made several long trips up and down the east coast and have to say this car has some of the most comfortable and supportive seats I've ever sat in. The acceleration from a roll is great despite it's heft. The ZF 8 speed auto has way better shifts than my A8 in the 2017 Z06 I have. I'm seriously considering an upgrade to the red eye widebody Charger if it becomes a reality.
No secret. Horsepower is the PRIMARY thing that matters in roll racing. Everyone knows that. A shitbox chassis with 1,000 hp doesn't have to plant or manage power once it's moving. From a dig the chassis and weight distribution plays a significant part and those are negated during a roll race. This isn't a surprise at all. A Chevy Vega with a stock chassis and 707 horsepower would will either race due to weight. From a dig it would likely be in the same boat as the Charger, all dressed up but going nowhere due to tire spin, wheel hop, etc.
I'm surprised the C8 hung as well as it did. Yes, the Charger has a lot more weight but it also has 200 more positive displacement supercharged horsepower.
Looks like the hellcat has some wheel spin from a roll. The c8 stuck even/slightly ahead for a while even though the speedometer on the c8 stayed 2-5mph behind the hellcat. Seen other vids and the c8 is getting beat up pretty bad from a roll against other hellcats. The dig race went just as I expected it to go. Maybe some clickbait from the Hennessy guys?
Hellcats are very cool cars. They look mean, sound great, and do what they were designed to do which is not competing with a Miata. Anyone who has driven a manual transmission Hellcat know how much fun they are.
All those big Mopars are just that, BIG. I've loved Challengers since 1970 and the current ones look great, if they had just made it a 7/8 scale version. I understand that the Corvette at 3,550 isn't light anymore, but I'm sorry 4,200 pounds is just unacceptable. It doesn't matter how much power you have you're asking that much more of your brakes, suspension, tires, everything.
And the Dodge is still a POS car. It's fast, but it's a pos Dodge.

I have to disagree with your statement.
I've owned my 2015 Challenger SRT for 5 years and put 65000km on it. It is the most reliable, comfortable and fastest car I've owned in over 25 years of car buying.
It also has one of the highest resale values of any domestic car. If I didn't love the new C8 so much I would be ordering another one in a heart beat.
The C8 still held it's own off the 40. The Charger didn't just walk away angry. I am really excited to see what Procharger comes up with more so than the 27,541 twin turbo builds currently. Procharger seems to have cooling down and I am suspect of cooling with twin turbos. Also curious what the cost comparison is going to be between Procharger and the C8. Either way, that will provide good HP, less of a torque shock to the transmission/clutch. I think once the C8 gets a tune and some FI, it's gonna be just evil with little effort.
And the Dodge is still a POS car. It's fast, but it's a pos Dodge.
No, it's not a POS. For the sake of being credible, why don't you tell us about any SRT you've owned in the past few years.
I'm here to study about a future Corvette, not to have some wanna-be talk **** about a good car. I put $3,000 in my Red Eye and can run high 9's all day long.

That would be a great car to have. I'll bet you enjoy the hell out of it.
