It's lucky for GM that I "was" a newbie and (used to be) uninformed. I probably would not put up with this if I was going to receive my C8 in 3rd or 4th quarter 2020. Congrats to those that have the patience. Don't get me wrong, the C8 is a fabulous Game Changer, but the only reason I personally allowed as much as i have for me is that this is the first year and I wanted one or else I would wait until the dust settles and get one with applied discounts down the road, but I don't think that is going to happen for quite a while yet so, I bit the bullet and dealt with it.

Spending this much money and being treated like ____ is NO WAY to run a business. Most would fail by now with this business model - even with a great product. I do not know why so many tolerate it just like the RV community. Again, the C8 is worth some effort, but the demanded level is beyond good business practices - MY2C.

I agree, GM could use some advice as to how to treat customers. As a CPA in public practice all my career, clients came first and communication with them was paramount. Had very loyal clients for over forty years because of how they were treated. With the Vette being a low production car, but yet so significant to GM’s reputation it is senseless to not have great communication with the buyers for every step along the way - particularly with the technology available today. I have owned twelve Vettes including the C8 built but not yet here. I would have a hard time ordering another one after this experience. GM let the opportunity to go above and beyond get away. Very very poor management sadly.

Well I'm not new to the process....this is the 6th car that I have actually need or had to order....although I have never ordered a 1st year of a generation before, and remember what it was like when the 7th gens were comming out....its NEVER BEFORE been anything like this. Granted there were other issues thats made it twice as bad. Of all the cars I have ordered, the LONGEST I have had to wait from order to delivered was 9 weeks and as little as 7 weeks. Thank goodness I am not one of the folks that sold their C7 early as I still have it to drive and have an option if all else fails. BUT I will not give up for some time, I refuse to give up on my dream, but there arfe other issues that could put an end to it, I have a "ticking time bomb" in me that doesn't have a known clock in it....its a medical issue (never degeneration) and it could be that in a year or two....I may not be able to drive, or even walk for thar matter. so for me....time is of the essence.

I'm with ya' bro. I too have health issues, and at 75 YO and a limited length of life left in me, I want my car ASAP. I still have my beloved C-7, so all is not lost. I've been pushed to a 2021 list, and hope to have mine in early 2021. In the meantime, worrying about things I can't change, gains me nothing. Hang in there.

Really hope they get that second shift rolling in the next couple of weeks. Honestly, if I get shoved to the end of my dealers line for a 2021 (worst case scenario) bc my 2020 order cannot be built then I will just shift my deposit to the Z06. I will keep saving my pennies until it becomes available.
many of us are doing that. MacMulkin taking deposits for the 2022 Z06.

I'm with you as well....but I'm only 63. I had a long conversation with my guy yesterday and we were running some numbers. For starters, not that it makes a real difference, but they are the largerst Corvette dealer in South Texas...ALL of their Jan and Feb cars have been delivered. They had a total of 40 cars in the March Allocation. they have 1 @ 3300, 1 @ 3400, 2 being delivered today.....on their priority list, I am #7 of the last 35, all of which are at 3000. So if they arrive in order, there are only 6 ahead of me. The bad part is I ordered a Photo Album and the NCM gave me a tentitive TPW of 11/16. For me....that is cutting it a bit close. Another piece of info that they told me is that at this point they are currently basing their schedule on the "current" 10Hr schedule that the factory is working. So like so many others......we are all praying that a second shift comes....whenever that is. and with a little luck and the creek don't rise, things could move to the left!

The Cmud post being referenced here was on 8/5 and applies to 8/4 production. Verts definitely rolled off the line yesterday. From Mark:

8/6 BG
production
6992-7108
The Verts have started coming off the line

Has anyone RECENTLY tried to track their shipment with JCT using the Pals Portal website?

Reason I ask is my car was completed Wednesday and is now at 4B00 Bayed. My dealer sent me a link to the JCT portal and told me I can start watching for it daily. When I explained that it is no longer available unless you have a login and password he said NOT so. I tried my complete ViN using the search tool at the top, but because my car hasn't been turned over for shipment yet, it's too soon. HOWEVER, it did look for it and said it didn't show yet.

If anyone has a car that should be in transit, will you please try and see if you can get in again.

If so, great news, but PLEASE don't go calling JCT bugging them, or they will remove it again. Assuming they are allowing it for all of us once again. Please advise what you find.

Jack Cooper sent an email to my salesman yesterday morning saying the car was loaded on a carrier Wednesday evening. I checked the Jack Cooper website yesterday throughout the day and it said "VIN Number Not Found. The Unit may have been moved by another Carrier or not yet released to Carrier.".

Same thing early this morning and again right now. The car arrived at the dealership late this morning. So, unfortunately, it does not appear that the functionality is there.

I know they built at least 115 yesterday. We had a 7223 that was built. May have been the last or next to last one built yesterday.

CLASSIS CHEVY SUGARLAND
I always considered the Houston Area as Southeast Texas. LOL. That's about two hours from me. I attended the unveiling there in November.
