Default How to remove mirror caps ?

I am planning to repaint mirror caps red. I need factory instructions how to remove caps without damage.
Does anyone have Chevy part numbers for both replacement unpainted factory mirror caps?

My Accelerate Yellow C8 delivery end of July

I wish the yellow was actually like in your attached picture. That looks way better than Accelerate Yellow.

Just wrap them. No risk of damaging when trying to pry them off and easy to revert to stock if you ever wish.

I plan on wrapping as well, like AW 2020C8 did with his except mine will be a Silver HTC.

Would love to see an iPhone video of someone removing and restoring the mirror cap. My replacement cap came with a tool that looks like a tongue depressor. Just trying to figure out the smartest way to approach it.

Thanks

If you want a pro wrap, you need to remove panels to provide full coverage. Not the same process as PPF. This is why I have never wrapped any of my cars.

Depends on the gap around the edge. Wrap film is much much thinner and more flexible than PPF. They have special plastic tools for pushing it into gaps.

Default Wrapping mirrors

If you want full coverage on a wrap you will still need to remove panels and disassemble like a paint job. Tools can tuck in wrap film edges but all vinyl shrinks at least 1/8” after install, so even the best mirror wraps will show edges after a few weeks if panels are not removed.

Has anyone here successfully removed the mirror caps on these yet? I’m looking into wrapping one and own a wrap shop but don’t want to break any parts on these mirrors.

if anyone has any tips they would be appreciated 🙂
