I have seen these in the past and thought they would be cool and useful as they don't cost much..... but then I remembered I dont care because its under the car and no one sees it.
Because it is his car not yours.
I can feel his pain, can't you?
I've felt it every time I've done an Awe, ShT.
Aside from cool, this covers some OEM Decal Removal that was due to bad directions from my scout (wasn't paying attention). It's 8 feet up, so hard to notice in the first place - like being underneath. But if you look carefully at the submarine, its there in 3D. No that is not simulated wave action.
The first scratch, scrape, ding is the hardest. Seeing that it is not visible, I wouldn't waste the $$$ getting it fixed. It is bothering you, as it would me, because the car is so new. Drive it and a couple thousand miles from now you will have forgotten about it. Also, just think how happy you will be, if it happens again, that you didn't get it fixed.
The other lesson from the C7 is if you're not going to have a lift, then you should have a replaceable splitter there.
I don't stress abt my poverty splitter or air dams because I know I can replace them whenever i want...
^^^^^^^^
This, I bought my factory Tupperware splitter for $150 at the parts counter, all three pieces can be replaced since they each have individual part numbers. I have a 1LT (poor mans C8) and so with no front end park assist camera I view mine as a sacrificial piece. If my wife or I bump a curb with it, who gives a ****, I'm out $50 for the piece and it's back to new.
My wife feels horrible about it since she loves the car too. She already said we should get it fixed, but dunno what exactly that will entail right now or how much it will be. Plus throw in the fact, the car barely has any miles on it, who's to say it won't happen again in another couple weeks. Darn driveway.. wish I could get that fixed in a way that didn't look horrible. Have looked into putting in a ramp to smooth it out as well but they all look like trash from what I've seen so far. In the end.. if you are in doubt get the front end lift. Wish I had stuck with it now and kept it on my order....
If the scrapes really bother you, just rough up the underside of the FBC, and attach self adhering, black nonskid tape..It'll look fine, and help with further abrasions. I did that on my C5 Pace car...Easy to do, and very cheap.
[QUOTE=Daemek;1602266312]So, I had the front end lift on my order but decided to remove it since I never had an issue with my C7. My wife wanted to drive the car, and drove it straight down the driveway without turning and...scraaap. Look under the car and see this. So now I regret not getting the front end lift and with 300 miles on the car, what do I do now? Supposed to get the paint protection tomorrow along with my high wing installed. Anything they can do about this? Or do I just live with it. You can't see it unless you look under the car but I know it's there now.

Looking at the damage on your car, it could cost the price of the FE Lift to repair. I was initially reluctant to purchase the FEL on my C-8, but I am glad that I did. I have had a couple of close calls with driveways that would have certainly damaged the spoiler if not for the FEL.
I feel your pain, OP. I let my wife ride my new Hayabusa motorcycle 30 minutes after bringing it home. She seemed to be able to get her feet down in front of the house, but at the stop sign three blocks down the street, she came to a stop and decided to let it lean a little on her planted foot. It fell over on her because she couldn't hold the weight. She didn't get hurt, but it cost me $900 for a new fairing. Never again.
I've owned my Corvette for five years, and she has never asked to drive it, nor would I let her. She has her own vehicles.
All these posts make the wife pay for it, guilt the wife, should have got the lift, get front end armor etc... The real problem is the wife get rid of that problem! No one to destroy cars and back into ****! That was my solution (and I didn't cheap out on the lift).
In all seriousness get it fixed after you are used to it and it doesn't happen again. Good luck

Every time my wife drove my Mustang something happened to it (never major) and it got to the point my wife just wouldn't drive the car. I had her drive the C8 home from the dealership when we picked it up. So she drove it home for the first time. The older I get the more I realize it's just a car, and one day it will be a pile of scrap like the rest. I take exceptional care of it, but it's still a pile of parts, they'll make more, I would rather share the fun with my wife.

I let my wife drive my GS one time while I was in it. This was only "if" she had to drive it, she knew how to start it and find reverse. She said she doesn't want to hear my mouth if something happened to it, so she never touches it.
I kind of hollered at her when she busted the side mirror off on her SUV while backing it out of the garage a couple months ago. We lived here for ten years and there is plenty of space to get out. Makes me mad because I have to pay to get it fixed.
Live with it, but if you want to fix it, DO NOT take it to a body shop... they'll charge you $500++ and could F-it up.
This is an easy DIY....
FIrst, tape off the front to define a line that is not visible from the front.
Second, sand down the Fiberglass as smooth as possible...
Third, seal with primer... just to stabilize the fibers.... light coats, and sanding.... don't go crazy...
Forth, buy GM touchup paint.... it is readily available two stage...(base+clear)... and apply with an airbrush kit... available from hobby supply at around $100... cheap, and can come in useful down the road.... (be sure to use siphon feed if you are painting at an angle.). this gives incredible control over paint application... you want multiple thin coats,,, just keep working it until its even.... then repeat with clear coat....

Nice P-3!
Used to fly on a EP-3E back in the day and the ASW folks would come out and play too!
